The best player on the team with the best record.

The best player on the team with the best record.

Usually true unless someone has a Nash like impact on their team and somehow don't wind up with the best record.

For example I don't think Duncan or Parker would win league MVP with the best record unless it's a 70 win season.

Did it.

Everyone here must be voting for TD? He's leading and I thought he would be a distant favorite.

That's what happens when you post a serious MVP poll on a Spurs board. Homers come out to play. I voted for Lebron, but it could be Nash again. Dirk ruined his chances at another MVP because no one will forget how he bailed on his team against an 8 seed and Kobe may have whined his way out of one in the summer.

I voted for Tim.

Tim will get the MVP if he goes 20-10 and the Spurs win 60 games.

He will also get the MVP if he leads the Spurs an scoring and the Spurs have the best record.

6 to 1 odds for Dirk? You'd have to be an idiot to put money on Dirk after the way he embarrassed the league last year. He could average 50 points a night and they won't give him the MVP. 1 million to 1 odds is more like it.

Done - I voted for LeBron based on media/fan perception and the feeling that TD wont really be considered for it unless he does something outrageous like 25/12/2 and leads Spurs to 65 or more wins. And Pop wont play he that way because he wants to rest TD periodically throughout the season in order to keep him from being worn out. I would like for him or Bowen to get the long awaited and well deserved DPOY award.
I think TD could care less about the MVP just like he did with the Finals MVP.

I voted for Tim.

Tim will get the MVP if he goes 20-10 and the Spurs win 60 games.

He will also get the MVP if he leads the Spurs an scoring and the Spurs have the best record.

Tim won't get MVP because the Spurs are boring and the people who vote on MVP only watch Spurs games if we're playing the Mavs, Suns, or Cavs on national TV.

I want Tim Duncan to win but hey with KG in the East now, forget about the Celtics winning the 1st Overall draft pick next year. The Celtics will win more games now with him on board and another scorer Allen, along with Pierce. And we already know what that means-
- who brings more wins to the team? Who's the catalyst? KG.

I really think they (Boston), will be one of the top 3, if not, will rule the East next season.

So, KG will definitely be an itch to another Duncan season MVP trophy yr.

plus I cannot guarantee a Spurs best record win next season even if I'm excited over a possible ring or a repeat. They're in the powerful WC. And I don't think they're keen on winning the best record anyway. Winning it doesn't really prove much->winning the TROPHY. :D (Proof:Suns 2006, and Dallas 2007)

the media is going to play the sympathy card again and give KG a free pass = LAME

No way Dirk can get it again unless he wins the trophy the year before!

TD doesn't play enough minutes to compete.

LBJ is the favorite and KG is a serious contender if his team has a great record!

Nash (:rolleyes) or KG. Book it, unless the Spurs get off to an unusually great start and have the best record in the West, which they rarely do and I doubt they will this year seeing as Parker will be tired from playing all summer.

I think LeBron is favored to win the regular season League MVP for probably the next 10-12 years.
