Desperate Housewives Season Four Shock: A Female Lead Killed Off?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There certainly will be wild plot changes in season four of Desperate Housewives but will the show off one of the main characters. Earlier speculation was that a death was on the horizon and many speculated that it would be Victor, the husband of Gabrielle (Eva Longoria) and that she would be back on top and maybe even take his spot as mayor all while getting busy with ex hubby Carlos.

Desperate Housewives Season Four Shock: A Female Lead Killed Off?

Possible spoiler alert: Now a report claims that this may be the last season for Eva Longoria. According to Mike Walker of the National Enquirer newly married Eva Longoria's openly griping to pals and "Desperate Housewives" producers that because she and San Antonio Spurs hoopster/hubby Tony Parker are separated often by their work in far-flung cities.

So Walker reports that "she's dreaming of opting out of her contract at season's end – and moving back to her native Texas to get pregnant." The veteran gossip first notes that Eva's hopes of Tony getting traded to the LA Lakers were finally dashed due to his iron-clad, long-term contract (no way is he leaving the Spurs) so she's suddenly cold on her career and hot for her marriage and is willing to put it first.

"It's coming to a point where I don't think she can continue on the show," a friend said flatly. Tony's also ticked about their commuter marriage and told an interviewer: "Eventually, we're going to have to find a way to live in the same city."

Walker claims that Eva's huddling with show creator Marc Cherry, and no solution's in sight yet, but the devilishly clever story-spinner's suddenly hinting he'll kill off a major character in the Season four finale. And get this a "Backstage Spy" whispers "It'll be Eva…at her own request!"

This line will undoubtedly ensure that Eva Longoria is vilified in at least a few more corners of Spurs' nation.

For myself, I'm not buying this rumor for a variety of reasons, but mostly because it's not as if it was some big surprise that the Spurs would be unwilling to trade Tony Parker to accommodate Eva Longoria -- and I just can't imagine Tony suddenly being willing to demand a trade to LA at this juncture of his career. Surely, there was clear talk a long time ago that Tony was staying in SA for the foreseeable future -- at least until Timmy and Pop retire -- and that any relationship between them would have to account for that fact for now.

You would think so, but sometimes people let emotion cloud their long distance view. I just hope the situation doesn't negatively impact his play this season. The guy's a pro so I doubt it would, but it depends on how much he's personally effected by her career in LA and the distance.

Tony is human -- and he is now married -- something or someone has to give. See: Jumana Kidd, circa 2003.

That's totally stupid.

Felicity Huffman's character has cancer this season and that's where the rumor started about killing off one of the housewives.

There's nothing fake about a real quote.

I'd imagine Tony wouldn't want to leave SA until the Duncan era ends, as there's still several possibilities for more trophies.

They made it work as a commuter relationship for 2 years.
I would assume they could continue to make it work.

If/when they're ready to have children I would assume that would change. That's how I interpet Parker's quote.

I'm not worried about Parker's ability to focus and play. His play for France over the summer would be more of a concern to me than whether he and Eva are in the same city.

Spurs fans have dealt with the drama that comes with Parker having a TV star girlfriend/now wife for the last 2 seasons. We'll continue to deal with it. As long as he's happy and focused on his game I can take the drama.

Well, isn't her contract up this season? She has said since the end of season 1 that she did not intend to renew her contract, despite where DH might be at the time. That it was something she enjoyed doing, but didn't want to do forever, and that she was happy with the length of her contract. She's alread done a couple movies and has great agents that promote her well.

And Shelly is right about Felicity Huffman's character having cancer (and there is someone who definitely doesn't need the show to launch projects).

I remember last season the rumors about killing off a character, which would be Lynette, since the season ended with her being diagnosed with cancer.

Besides, this article is from the National Alledger :lol

Talk about "Desperate Off-Season"! Wow! we're reduced to discussing this? Anything to pass the time I guess.

God I'm bored - When is the season starting again?

Oh, and she just renewed her contract for 4 years this year.

In 2007, the ladies of Desperate Housewives each renewed their contracts with ABC for four years, worth $40 million

I don't think she's anywhere near Jackie Christie levels of crazy, but I wouldn't want to take the chance. Although it have been pretty funny to see her swinging a purse at Nash after he headbutted Tony to the floor.

Rather than kill her character off I think they could just replace her with Beno.

I don't even know what to say.Nothing new here.

There will be plenty of cutaways to Grant Hill's wife this coming season.

The only difference between her and Eva is that Eva actually has a career.

actually during the year, whenever he would get knocked down hard going to the basket, she would just like lean forward and see how hes doin and then clap when he got up.

Didn't look at all pissed off :lol

OK, Eva quits, and moves back to San Antonio....and??? Tony is still an NBA player who travels 6-7 months per year, depending on the depth of the playoff run. How together are they going to be? She might as well keep on working. They shoot, what 20 shows per year? How hard is that?

I was going to say something similar...I'd heard rumblings about this quite a long time ago...way before her wedding or engagement even.

Doesn't this team encourage a family environment? Even is she doesn't go to every game, she'd probably still get to see him and travel with him more than she does now, right?

<sigh> How did I get sucked into this thread? :lol
