decreasing size of video

is there a program i can use to decrease the size of a video? i want to post some stuff on youtube... but my 4 minute clip is 447mb... i filmed in too high a quality. anychance i can decrease that 447 minutes to about 80 or 90 mb?

They let you download a trial version, but I'm not sure if they leave their logo or a watermark on the compressed video.

You could always go to download.com and do a search query for 'Video Compressor', replace Video with MPEG, Movie etc.... and just do trial and error until you find one that suits you.

use windows movie maker
just import the video and save it and when you save it it gives you options on the quality and size

it should have gave you option for either saving my a type of quality or by size
im at work so i cant really check but i know that when you go to save it theres options somewhere in there to change the quality or decrese the size of the file and you can even specify what size you want it to be.....if no one else can help you then tonight i can check when i get home but i know you can do it because i have done it before

Just use WMM.

I compressed a 550 meg video to 93 megs, and it lost very little if any quality.

Download link is all the way at the bottom, I use this and love it fast and easy, will do widescreen also with no problem. I can get huge files way under 100mb. Not sure if it's vista usable for sure. O-yea it's free too.

if you use that put the Video scaled size at 320 : 240 for regular video and 320 : 176 for wide screen and set the Frame/sec at 30.

Start with a high bitrate kbps, and if the MB is too large just drop it a bit.

I encode it mpeg 2 because My other "trim" program works well with it, but youtube recommends mpeg4, divx or xvid and thoses option are on the drop down menu at the top.
mpeg 2 looks fine to me on youtube.
