Thanks for the tips. Just using Expedia, looks like two airline tickets and hotel room for four days comes to around $700-800. Not that bad. I think LJ can win that much playing poker while we are there. :smokin

That's not bad. Sometimes Southwest has decent packages too, and direct flights that can make any extra cost worth it.

I'm a freelancer, so no one pays for such things. There's just a conference I am choosing to attend as an excuse to go to Vegas.

it polls every site online and gives you a listing of the prices. I found 1 way airfare from vegas back home for 100 bucks.

Just a head's up for anyone thinking of using hotwire and travelling with kids. A couple years ago we booked a flight for the 3 of us (me, Jim, and Ben who at the time required a carseat) to Denver. We went through hotwire and saved about $100, which we thought was a pretty good deal. We had a layover each way, which didn't sound like a big deal when we bought the ticket.

All 4 times we boarded we were the LAST passengers seated (because our ticket was electronic?? I don't know.) and they put us at the very back of the plane. So twice on the way there and twice on the way home, we had to wait in the lobby with a grumpy 2-year-old until everybody had been seated, then carry said grumpy 2-year-old and his carseat and our carry-ons all the way down the crowded aisle of people looking at us like we'd help up the plane.

We decided it would be easier to just pay full price.

Bummer. I've used Hotwire many times and never had any problems. I think it's the best site on the net especially for hotel prices.
