No, no.

Must see the Cubs get to the WS against the Angels, push it to 7 games, then blow a 5 run lead(all runs scored with two outs and 3-2 counts to every hitter) in the 9th and lose.

Perfect.

eh

let it be the Indians.

They haven't won a WS since like 1917.

Let the Cubs literally be the only ones in the last century to not have a WS.

I just don't want to Sox in the World Series. I'm sick of them and their fans. Nobody gave a shit about that team until 2003 and now they name themselves the nation. What a bunch of horse shit. They have just become a team to tell others you don't like the Yankees.

Indians $61,000,000 payroll and 96 wins
Yankees $196,000,000 payroll and 94 wins

The Indians do it the right way. They have 1/3 the payroll of the Yanks and 2x the talent. Go Tribe

The only team that has a legit following is the Yankees, however most of the people who like the Yankees a) are not from NY b) don't really care about baseball anyways c) just jump on a bandwagon because they don't have the gull to stick with a team during down years.

All these reasons are why Red Sox Nation is a crock of sh#t. Back when Mo Vaughn played, nobody cared about them. They were not on T.V. twice a week. They didn't lead SportsCenter off with who was elected President of Red Sox Nation. Nobody cared and why is a mystery. They were in the playoffs. They were a good team. But they didn't win the ring, and that is why this "Nation" is a crock.

It's not a knock on the Chicago fans or Boston fans, it's the fans that all of a sudden proclaim to be Boston or Chicago fans just because they are braindead. I'm sick of it. Once your team is knocked out, go be the braindead peons of our society and root for the Cubs, Yankees, Red Sox, Celtics, and Lakers when your team is knocked out just because they have history.

Keep in mind that Boston has placed the Yankees on a curse. Yankees last series win...2004 alds against the Twins. They have lost 3 consecutive playoff series since. Indians pitching I feel could give them a huge edge. I feel like the Rockies (assuming they win tonight) or the Phillies could be that cinderalla team. All in all, I am PUMPED for the playoffs. Boston/New York is a matchup id love to see but I wouldnt mind seeing the Angels or Indians rep the al. In the NL Phillies,Cubs, and the Rockies (if they lose tonight then replace them with the Padres) are teams I wouldnt mind seeing. Dbacks had their fun in 2001 so I would like to see someone else go. :lol Should be a fun postseason!! :clap :clap :clap

Quit your fucking bitching.
What about that HR by the Rockies that would have made it 7-5? but the Umps fucked it up.

Either way Hoffman would have got the final out.
Its not like that was the tying run and you would have still won.

At worse it would have went to extras but the Umps fucked up that HR call so they made up for it. :lol

The umps had a meeting and decided it wasn't a homerun.
There was no meeting for the "final game deciding call of the fucking game that went 13 fucking innings".

I watched the replay of the ball that wasn't called a homerun, nothing led me to believe their call was wrong...................unless of course you bought the interview of the 400 pound season ticket holder lady who was brought to her seat in a wheelchair.

Then it would have just been 2 outs and a runner on 2nd Tied at 8.
The game would have just went on longer and Rockies would have still won. :elephant:

To see our star player basically get his ACL blown by an ump, and then have to deal with this makes me want to never watch an umped game again

I would think Adrian Gonzalez is more of a star player than Milton Bradley.

But had Bradley shown more restraint he would've been there.

Yes the ump was at fault, but Bradley should've held back.

That's the same mentality that cost the Suns two players against the Spurs -- putting one's own pride ahead of the team's best interests. I guess Milton Bradley can be satisfied that his pride is still intact, but his teammates would probably prefer that Milton be dealing with the scars of being called a name while still playing baseball into October.

I think he lost more pride getting his knee blown out by his own manager than he would have just ignoring the insult and reporting it to MLB along with the 1st base coach. People that are that easy to bait are just asking for something like that to happen.

Yup.

Reacting before thought leads you to a lot of trouble in life.

The parallels between this incident and the Phoenix - Spurs series are pretty numerous.

Grow up, be the bigger person, and move on. It's not like the ump took a swing at him or put his personal safety at risk. MB could have completely ignored him or at least been PARTIALLY controllable. His manager HAD to tackle him to get him to stop. Even then, he was pissed. There's no call for ever losing your cool like that, least of all not in the middle of a sporting event. Seriously. Maybe I'm just weird, but when my teams are out of it, I kind of just like to enjoy the sport itself and root for good games.

I'm kind of pulling for Cubs-Red Sox simply because it'd be the best baseball story in ages, but the Rockies advancing to the Series would also be a great story.

But other than that: Seeing the Indians and Red Sox rotations out-duel themselves for complete games, the Angels and (to a lesser extent) Diamondbacks go small-ball, the Phillies try to outscore the Eagles with three MVP-quality players, A-Rod try and break out of his postseason funk and playoff baseball in Colorado are just some of the story lines I'm watching for.

Oh, and this made me laugh, so I'm posting it here.

I get how the Cubs would be a good story but how would the Red Sox be a good story? They have the 2nd largest fan base in the AL behind the Yanks, so I can see the Yankees being a "good story" as far as ratings is concerned. It's not like the Red Sox haven't won a World Series in the last 5 years. The Red Sox, Cubs, and Yankees all have payrolls over 150million. Here is your good stories: Colorado-which is making it's first ever playoff appearance, Philly which hasn't been there since the early 90's, Chicago for obvious reason, and Cleveland because the city has yet to win a championship since 1964. Obviously I'm a Cleveland fan so my opinion is slanted, but the only good story would be Cubs/Indians and let one of the two fan bases actually win something or Colorado/Cleveland just because they have the 2 smallest payrolls or if your a MLB exectutive you might want Yankees/Cubs just to rake in cash..

And even with the Red Sox' win a few years ago, I still think the historical significance of two of baseball's oldest franchises is still fun. Of course, it's lost some of the fun it'd have been before the Sox won, but still...

That's not taking away from the other franchises. Phillies, Indians and Yankees would all be historically significant in some way. There's good stories all throughout this post-season, which makes it that much more fun for me as a baseball fan.

And as far as the payroll argument goes, I'd expect the problem a smaller-market team fan would have with that, and while I have my own issues with skyrocketing payrolls, you can't argue with the fact that those with ginormous payrolls still have great players on their rosters.

Through my eyes, the game will be enjoyable any which way it falls out.

It's not just the trolls. It's the majority of Suns fans in general. Go to any Suns forum, and about 75% of them refuse to give the Spurs any credit whatsoever. They'd rather say that the Suns were robbed. Or that Donaghy rigged the series. Or that the Spurs cheated by "winning dirty." The list goes on.

That's just the tip of the iceberg. There's much more. Like Suns fans throwing things at Spurs players after game 5. Suns fans calling in bomb threats to the Spurs Hotel while in Phoenix. I grew up in Arizona and know all about Phoenix area sports fans. My disdain for all things Phoenix goes back to when Steve Kerr was playing at U of A. ASU fans taunted Kerr about his father's recent murder with chants of "Where's your dad?" And just a few short years ago, they taunted Lute Olson about his wife dying of cancer. Real class acts living in Phoenix. :rolleyes

Now, are all Suns fans like this? Of course not. And if you're not one of them, you have no reason to give a shit. I was born and raised in Arizona for 13 years. And I've seen my share of Phoenix sports fans in action. So you'll have to excuse me if I don't do cartwheels over the thought of a Phoenix area sports team winning a major championship anytime soon.

Cards fans hate the scrubs. Cards fans are good knowledgable people. scrubs fans have been down for so many years, taking it in the wazoo, that when they even start to be the slightest bit good, they act like completely spoiled children that are ADD; running around doing the little "nyah nyah nyah" dance. Not even knowing what the phrase "act like you been there before" means... because unless they are 99 years old, they haven't been there before. The reason there are a supposed 'hidden throng' of scrubbie fans is because they are the original 'lovable losers.' Everyone loves to love a annual loser. Exactly like Billy Crystal in City Slickers when he wore the scrubs hat. That was the entire purpose. He was the big city guy that couldn't seem to do anything right, so they put him in a scrubbies hat. All of a sudden he had an identity. StL will never have the 'lovable loser' bandwagon fans that the scrubs have because, they aren't a loser franchise.

Your inference about how scrubbies are more universally loved than the Cards is quite amusing. So, I guess now you are going to go be a Lakers fan and give up on the Spurs because they are more universally loved, right? Hell, at least the Lakers have won a championship or two in the past 100 years or so. Go like a team because they are popular, it suits you.

Penis envy... that's a good one. How does one with more WS Titles than any other club but the Yankmees have envy of anything about a club that has the longest championship drought in all of professional sport?

Go D-Backs.
