That game is a 5 on 5 NBA Jam. Do yourself a favor and go with NBA 2k8. You'll be happy with it.

So Live 08 vs. 2K8 on the 360.....does anybody know which one is superior? 2K8 is ol' reliable, but Live has looked nice in the previews.

There is no comparison from anything I've heard. 2k8 has improved the entire package and brought (if you can believe it) even more realism to the game. Live has gotten better from what I'm hearing and seeing but its still got a ways to go.

As has been discussed in TWO other threads, yes, NBA 08 is different from Live 08. Live is made by EA. NBA 08 is made by Sony.

Anyways, NBA2k8 has to be the most realistic looking basketball game I've ever seen and it plays much better than last years game.

yeah, they were saying something about how Shaq could lock down Lebron on the perimeter with the lock on d thing. I think that's pretty stupid from IGN because Lebron is tons faster than shaq and you could easily drive past him no matter how much lock down Shaq is playing.

How would you compare it to 2k7? I'm still loving 2k7, so if 2k8 isn't even as good, I'll probably wait until it hits $30 before getting it.

I don't know about the 360 version, but on the PS2 version the dunks are kind of NBA jammish.

The game isn't anything revolutionary, but I would say the game is a definate improvement. Everything is far more polished in terms of menus and presentation.

I like how the off ball control is set up; on offense you can pick any player without the ball to get open, post up, etc. by using LB and the right stick to direct which player. So you don't always gotta run a play from the menu, you can essentially make your own.

AI defense seems to be tougher as well, I can't Iso with Nash or Parker easily anymore. I think an addition I didn't see last year is markers and arrows that tell you how to run a play. You'll see a circle that tells your PG to go to the top of the 3 point line and arrows to move in a certain direction or pass to a certain player.

Overall I say it's a good game, but probably not a must have if you plan to wait.

There's so many mixed reviews for both games.

In all honesty I hate EA Sports. The only thing they do right is NCAA Football, and this years sucks ass much like last years. I wonder what the hell is wrong with them. They basically put 2007 in restock and slabbed a 2008 sticker on it?

Live08 is good. Not great. Has some idiot glitches, like when you dunk the player dont even touch the ball moreless the rim sometimes. 2k8 seems to be coming to a still though, it's better than last years for sure but not a whole lot better. Overall, Live08 is a 82/100 and 2k8 is 90/100 in my books.

Although Halo 3 is still ownage though. Best game ever with no dispute, fan or not.
