HA! So much for the over-hyped Trojans, JGW. At least some of the other "upsets" were against ranked teams - not a basement dweller in the PAC-10. LOL!

well that was unfortunate. say what you will, but USC is not out of the title game race...if they run the table they will be just fine, its a long season. besides, after they lost to oregon state last year they were still in until the loss to uchla.

fuck you guys, USC is running the table. and their strength of schedule is more than enough to get them back to at least the #2 spot. no need to panic...

Not if Oklahoma runs the table

If my Sooners run the table and USC does as well, we'll get screwed out of it by the pollsters boner for USC and the highly overrated PAC-10 (remember when UCLA was ranked #11... since then they've lost to Utah and NOTRE DAME for gods sake... but they are still sitting atop the PAC-10 by virtue of a 3-0 conference record). They lost to one of the worst teams in the country but only droped 5 spots in one poll, 8 spots in the other. Wisconsin, on the other hand, lost to a team now sitting at 5-1 and drops 10 spots in one poll, 14 in the other. Look at how far WVU dropped when the lost to South Florida.

Just to demonstrate the bullshit-ness of the polls... Stanford, yes 2-3 Stanford whose only other win was against San Jose State, received 4 points in the USA Today Coaches Poll... yes, some wahoo out there believes Stanford is a top 25 team.

I won't say that USC doesn't belong in the title hunt, but I don't see why they deserve such an easy climb back. Losing to a team like Stanford AT HOME should drop them in the teens, not leave them a top 25 team.

Dude, the Pac-10 is brutal. Stanford would probably win the conference title in the Big-12.

Most INTELLIGENT sports figures understand that this year's USC team is a lot more hype than substance. Barely beating a 2-3 Washington team and then getting upset by an UNRANKED and then 1-3 Standford squad AT HOME. Booty not living up to preseason expectations. Injuries are starting to plague them. Etc.

I somehow doubt USC will run the table, having to play Oergon and Cal, but if they do and another 1-loss team with a similar or harder schedule is ranked below them then you know for a fact there is bias.

I just can't wait to see how the computer polls rank them now and at the end of the year. I know they only make up 1/3 of the BCS rankings, but that one has gotta hurt.

LSU is running the table and as weird as it sounds USF is running the table. There is your title game fellas.

The thing with USF is would their strength of schedule carry them to the title game? They so far have beaten a #5 and #17 (at the time) and currently only have one ranked opponent left (#15 Cincinnati).

Undefeated Cal has beaten the #15 and a #11 and has the #14 and #10 left on their schedule.

Undefeated Ohio State has beaten a #23 and has the #18 and #19 left.

Undefeated BC has beaten a #15 and has the #12 and #21 left.

OU has beaten the #19 and has #11 Missouri this Saturday.

USC has beaten a #14 and has the #2, #9, and #14 left. Though their sole loss was markedly worse than OU's.

If Cal goes undefeated the rest of the way I don't see USF, Ohio St, or BC jumping them.

If Cal runs the table they will be in the title game, but in my opinion they have a much less chance of running the table than USF. I'm almost certain Cal will lose to USC at the end of the year.

If OSU or BC run the table they may vault over USF to get to the title game, but in my opinion they both have a more difficult road ahead and a much larger chance of losing than does USF. Like you said, USF only has Cincinatti left as a ranked opponent.

I don't forsee LSU losing from here on out as they have beaten the toughest part of their schedule and have already taken down Florida. Their defense is too good and consistent and they will more than likely win out.

The only other team I see winning out is USF, and that will put them in the title game ahead of all of the one loss teams. They have played a tough enough schedule to beat out any one loss team in the country if they go undefeated, and if the BCS screws them out of it then all of the NCAA heads should be executed.
