I guess he didn't know that Arizona hit more homers during the regular season, and save for Livan, had a rotation with an ERA of around 4.00 and the back end of the bullpen with an ERA around 2.00.

EDIT: I wouldn't say Chicago chokes, either, as Arizona was th better team entering. But when the media overhypes, sometimes ineptitude appears to be choking.

When you put TEN RISP in Game 1 and fail to capitalize, and go on to load the bases several times in the series, to start innings off with runners on 1st and 2nd repeatedly, in consecutive innings, only to ground into DPs and strike out, you choked.

And don't tell me it was ALL Arizona pitching. If the pitching was so dominant, the Cubs wouldn't have had 47,000 RISP in a 3 game sweep.

We had our chances. We blew them. If we would have cashed in on HALF of them, we'd be heading for Game 4 right now. That's the definition of choking.

There's alot to be said about having a specialist for the 7th, 8th, and 9th inning... when your starter only needs to get you thru 6, that's a serioud advantage in playoff baseball, and a huge benefit to everybody...

...well, except Brandon Webb, cause he's so damn nasty he goes the full 9 half the time anyway
