I am looking into getting a new pc in a few months but I am kind of lost. Looking at the other thread I see allot of you hate Vista, Why? I have XP now. What is the difference between 32 bit and 64 bit?

One last thing is quad core more better to get than a dual core?

I don't play pc games, but I do use my pc to burn movies from my hard drive camcorder to dvd and my current pc chugs when I do this and can not used it or it will freeze. So I set it up and leave it over night and in the morning the dvd is done, yes my pc sucks, got it on black Friday for $150 at best buy and before that the other one was really old, but am looking at spending up to 1500.00 on a new pc in Feb. after the holidays.

i get everything from newegg.com . get vista 64 bit if you actually want 4GB of RAM recognized, and SP1 is coming out soon. Otherwise stick with XP.

u need expensive hardware if you want to run vista at an acceptable speed. If you don't want to buy a $$$ computer, then just stick with XP.

Don't even bother to know difference between 64 and 32 bit. Most games/apps still gonna be coming out in 32 bit.
