AUBURN HILLS, Michigan (Ticker) - The Detroit Pistons, who have finished first in the Central Division the last two seasons, re-acquired guard Lindsey Hunter from the Toronto Raptors on Thursday.

Detroit sent swingman Michael Curry to Toronto for Hunter, who spent his first seven seasons with the Pistons.

Hunter, one of several Raptors hampered by injury last season, averaged 9.7 points and 2.4 assists in 29 games. He missed 53 games due to injury, including the last 38 of the season due to a sore back.

The 32-year-old Hunter was selected by the Pistons with the 10th pick in the 1993 draft and averaged 11.2 points in his tenure with Detroit. In 681 games with the Pistons, Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Lakers and Raptors, Hunter has averaged 10.4 points and 3.0 assists.

The 35-year-old Curry played in 78 games last season, averaging 3.0 points and 1.6 rebounds. In 579 games with Philadelphia, Washington, Milwaukee and Detroit, Curry has averaged 4.8 points and 1.6 rebounds.

"Michael is a solid veteran who is known for his defensive ability," Raptors general manager Glen Grunwald said. "(Coach) Kevin (O'Neill) coached Michael the past two seasons in Detroit and highly recommended him to us."

O'Neill spent the last two seasons as an assistant under Rick Carlisle with the Pistons and was named Raptors coach on June 18.
