More changes at WOAI, Ticket
It's becoming the favorite dance at S.A. radio stations WOAI and its sister station, KTKR, The Ticket 760: We call it the sports shuffle.

Here are the latest moves: Walter Pasacrita will follow in the footsteps of former co-host Jeff Vexler and become history on The Ticket's local afternoon show, "Sports Talk San Antonio." His last day on the 3-to-6 p.m. talk program will be Oct. 19.

That's where the Vexler-Pasacrita similarity ends, however.

While Vexler exited, Pasacrita's sports role at the bigger outlet of WOAI will expand: Not only will he continue doing the morning sports reports for "San Antonio's First News" with Charlie Parker, but he'll take on a new duty: handling the post-Spurs game reports, once the season begins. Some insiders term the new gig a move up for Pasacrita.

Meanwhile, a new voice will be heard on "Sports Talk San Antonio," starting Oct. 22. Sliding into Pasacrita's well-worn chair will be Mike Taylor, formerly of Dallas' KESN (ESPN Radio 103.3.). Taylor also will handle the pre-game Spurs show, formerly manned by the Thompson Brothers before they left S.A. radio to get into the online gaming/talk show business in Orlando.

It's the first big hire from outside the station under the watch of new WOAI/KTKR program director Peter Bolger. He couldn't rave enough about Taylor, saying, "He's very lively, very Texas."

Oh, and those who miss the wry sports musings of WOAI-TV sportscaster Don Harris and David Chancellor on WOAI radio may be in luck. As you know, the TV and radio stations will soon be under different umbrellas -- Clear Channel sold its local TV arm to Providence Equity Partners and I'm told the deal is just about final.

Though the synergy between the stations won't be as prevalent, Bolger said he's hoping that managers can get together on getting Harris and Chancellor back on WOAI radio in some capacity. Stay tuned.

When will he sleep? :lol

Seriously, if he has to do the early morning reports and then Spurs postgame reports, that's a long day. Maybe he sleeps in the middle of the day (unless he has other duties then).

I listened to 760 for a couple of weeks when my truck was in the shop and I had a rental and it sucks. I don't know how anyone can listen to that annoying shit all the time. I don't care what changes they make, it will always suck.

If he's going to do Spurs pre-game, he'd better demonstrate some good Spurs knowledge (and no Mavs' homerism) pretty quickly or he's going to get crucified by the locals.

They don't talk anything else interesting either. But I'll be willing to give this guy a chance for awhile. The noose will be short. Just as long as he doesn't have his head buried up the Spurs' butt, he'll be fine.

Taylor is a young guy, too. 32 years old.

And guys, he was a Dallas homer because he was in the Dallas market. The same reason Joel Meyers was a Spurs homer when he worked here. But, he was always a Lakers fan, and is now a giant Lakers homer.

Taylor will be fine.

Just out of curiosity has any radio, or TV personal or employee ever said anything negative about any of the people they work with? I find it hard to comprehend how everyone from the Ticket and clear channel all seem to be so perfect.

After all even the Disciples didn't always agree with Jesus and yet the folks at Woai and the ticket do? they seem to never do no wrong. I just find that fascinating and some what of a phenomenal I just can't seem to accept.
nor shall I have to, anyone else notice this type of behavior ?

So guys like Charlie Parker are not worthy since he is old? Not sure how the 32 age fits in all this. But I like your next comment!

So another words these guys are fake? They act like they like a certain team or city since thats where they work?
You can't have it both ways and want us to believe the shit that comes through our radio speakers then tell us a certain person is saying homer type things due to the location of where they are located? What's wrong with finding a team you like and sticking with it? You can be a Knicks fan and still do Spurs radio you proved that over 7 years with Walter.

Taylor will be fine.

Just like Jason Penny, Laura Green, Chris Duel, Jeff Vexler, Jay Howard will be fine? or is this a different kind of fine?

did you forget about Tony Bruno?

How does saying a guy that broadcasts in Washington DC is the best, make me a "homer"

Get the dictionary back out Mouse.

Yes CZabe is better than Tony bruno. Bruno after Fox to now just has lost something, hes just not as funny.

Czaban on the other hand is HILARIOUS, and has great discourse on all sports.

Homer Hom-er (Hebrew ḥōmer, heap, homer; see ḥmr in Semitic roots)
:One who refuses to acknowledge the truth while constantly giving props to a certain individual they seem to worship on a daily basis.
Many homers show this strange behavior by tossing the individuals salad in an open public forum. And will insult you if you don't agree with them.
Turn to page 2 for different degrees of homerizum and the effects they have real sports fans.
