Owens sprains ankle against Cowboys

December 19, 2004

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Philadelphia star wide receiver Terrell Owens was forced out of Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys, limping off the field with a sprained ankle.

Owens grabbed his right ankle when he was dragged down by Roy Williams on a 20-yard reception to open the third quarter. Owens had two receptions for 24 yards.

He hobbled around the sideline early in the third quarter, then needed help to make it into the locker room for X-rays.

Owens entered the game with 75 catches for 1,176 yards and a team-record 14 touchdowns.

That's the bad news. The good news is that the Eagles defense is playing better than they have all year and now they have 4 weeks to heal any starters who are banged up.
