Come on, fess up.

What did Melmart and I tell you?

We said that the Red Sox had a history of 2 great comebacks, Oakland ( down 0-2 win three straight) and NY(down 0-3 win four straight)....never count out the Sox and Red Sox Nation, we never give up on our team

A lesson for some of you doubters.

Tpark, have you ever read Peter King's columns on SI.com?

The reason I ask is that Peter King sucks, as do most of your posts. Peter King is a big fat guy, as are you. Peter King is a name dropping, lying asshole. You drop everything you can to brag to folks around here plus you are a lying asshole to boot.

Tpark, are you Peter King?

When I saw the article, I knew you must be a happy guy.

I rooted for the Red Sox before that time they were down to New York and I hope they win. :)

I don't hate any pro sports team or any particular fanbase. I'm from Detroit, but I don't hate Cleveland. But, it is amusing to see Cleveland fans watch their teams lose and then go suicidal. I didn't count out Boston, but I did think Cleveland was obviously in the driver's seat after game 5. I will say this, however. While I don't love or hate the Red Sox, I just think the Rockies are a better story and I would like to see them win. That would be a cool story.

I did, and I will take my lumps. I was wrong. I didnt see Beckett starting 3 games in the ALCS....and winning all 3 with ease. Thats one of the more dominating series from a pitcher I have ever seen.

Grats to the Sox. Totally kicked my predictions in the ass.

I never counted them out, I wanted them to lose obviously but I knew that the right mix of Cleveland sports jinx and the Red Sox playing at home could change the series.

I still think game 6 was fixed and I will argue it till the day I die. Carmona threw several balls that were strikes that were never called. The first pitch to Drew was a stike (proven on Fox Track or whatever they call it). Just one or 2 close pitches that are not called is enough to make him serve meatballs.

Plus, Grady's homerun looked more fair than Victor's did. They kept saying "oh, it looked like it just went over the foul pole" (as their case for why it was foul) but going over the foul pole means it is fair.

But I'm a Cleveland fan so I know how to spin things. If anything else mabye we added some more members to Red Sox Nation now that they are back in the World Series.

Did you watch the ALCS? Beckett did NOT start 3 games in the ALCS. He started games 1 and 5 and that's it. He didn't start or pitch in any other game in the ALCS.

Eh, fuck it. Whoops. Even worse for me then.

Oh well. Back to baseball school, because I obviously dont know what the fuck I am talking about. I was sure, especially after being up 3-1...

Like Jim said, it takes 4 wins. truer words, yada yada...

I have no opinion on the WS, seeing as I cant even count how many times a pitcher pitched in a series.

I'm a Yankees fan and I knew Boston would come back :lol
Especially when they won game 5.

I said on one of my sites for my 14 teams that I like there was a thread saying: Can Boston win tonight.
And I said: Yes they will win tonight and win the series.

I wanted to be wrong so fucking bad but oh well.
The Indians aren't that great but they beat us so whatever.

Heres to the Rockies sweeping them. :elephant:

 and then next year they will probably go back to winning 80 games or so.

They had thier one year of fame and fucked it up.

They arn't shit compared to other AL teams.

Next year the Royals will win 90 plus games and win the AL Central and I will say they arn't that great. But since records mean everything then yea they are fucking amazing. :elephant:

You Cockmunch!

You can win a division and not be that great. I dont know if your small brain knows that.

So every team that wins the division or is even picked the division is great?
A lot of people picked the Yankees to win the division and win it all.
You probably think the Yankees suck since your a Boston piece of shit. :lol

I even had the Rockies winning the wildcard.

The only thing I fucked up on was I had Houston in the playoffs. :lol

And I didnt have Boston in the playoffs

The AL Central is the best division in baseball, and if you win that division, even though you play those very good teams in that division that many games, and still have the best record in baseball, it follows that you are a great team, in relation to the rest of the league. Any person with half a brain would realize that.

Do not tell me that the AL Central is not the best division because that division had produced the AL champ the last 2 years, and came withing 1 game of the hat trick with a totally different team ...remember?

The AL Central is the best division by any standard. Crudely, it is the only division with more good teams than mediocre/bad ones. (Just becuase NY can't beat Tampa doesn't make them a good team, by the way.)

Just look at the pitching staffs. Boston and Anaheim are the only other AL teams that even have comparable pitching staffs. Even assuming the White Sox stand pat (and they won't), they are still capable of winning 90 games next season. The Tigers, Indians, and Twins are likely to improve. The White Sox players are almost all in their decline phases, but it looks like Williams has been positioning them for some big acquisitions this off-season. Even the Royals are improving (finally), and they tend to play well against better opponents.

I honestly expected the Tigers to make the playoffs, not New York. (In other words, I expected the WC to come from the AL Central.) I forgot that young and/or inexperienced teams usually have a lot of injuries after playing into October the previous year.

I just read this:

http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/whitesox/cs-071023sox,1,5492658.story?coll=cs-whitesox-headlines

I take it back. If Guillen is really going to play this much small ball next year, the White Sox are probably screwed.

You are penalizing the Cleveland Indians because the rest of the major league teams suck???

You said Cleveland was not a great team, but they are great compared to everyone else who is mediocre. Is that not what determines who is the champ every year???

The Spurs are not a great team, when you compare them to the MJ led Bulls or the 80s Showtime Lakers, or the Bird led Celtics, but does that mean that they are not great in today's envirement? Hell no.

Your logic is skewed, to be kind.

Yea I remember Chicago and the Tigers and they could have had the Indians this year.
They are like the NFC South in football.
The Bucs, Falcons, Panthers all made the Superbowl in the last few years and the Saints almost made it there last year.

I would say the NL East is a good division as well but thats the NL and I cant talk about NL Teams in the same breath as AL Teams. :lol
