Boston should win in 6 based on the starting rotations. That said, I wouldn't care to bet against Colorado right now. I sure as hell thought the Tigers would either sweep the Cardinals or win in 5 last year, so who knows?

Johnny_Blaze_47
10-23-2007, 10:52 AM
Having to essentially decide against Youk/Papi or suffer defensively should make the Coors games very interesting.

On paper, it would seem as if Boston would romp, but I just don't see anyway you can bet against Colorado making this an interesting series or winning the whole fucking thing.

I predict seven.

Old momentum or new momentum? Rockies have won in Boston, including a beatdown of Beckett. Took two of three from the Red Sox during interleague play, reportedly killing them in the two wins. Colorado is playing better now!

Will the layoff break the momentum of the Rockies? Will they still be hot, but not as hot as the hard-charging Red Sox that just killed in the last three games a very good Indians team?

Six or seven, Rockies win...

If your gonna make arguments against how COL played the Sox in the regular season, then I'm gonna say the Sox win because they have been there before.

Melmart1

This is the World Series. The regular season has zip to do with it. I do expect home field advantage to play a part here, so my nod is towards the Sox. Should be a good series though, if the Rockies haven't cooled off or gotten rusty in the wait.

I failed to get any World Series tickets. Damn that shit was fucking impossible to get. I will be in Denver that weekend anyways because I'll be at the Broncos/Packers MNF game so I'm going to talk to some people I know and see if I can get tickets.
It be fun to go but who knows.

But Boston has 2 pitchers pitching at Coors in the world series.

I don't give a damn about MLB and won't watch the Series but due to the extreme douchebaggery coming out of Boston's NFL team and its fans, I have to agree with this dude. Funny how one team and its fans make you hate an entire city.

Colorado beat Boston in June, back when Boston was not playing good ball at all. (13-14 in June) They had just gotten back from a west coast road trip against the Angels and Diamondbacks( 7 straight days) ( 10 straight days without a day off if you count the 3 games against NY before the road trip)the day before they played Colorado, so I do not put any stock in that series loss.

Boston in 4 or 5.

That was the Rockies' only hope (slim as it was). I really expected Beckett to lose the strike zone after sitting that long. He didn't, and let's face it, 12 runs is an almost insurmountable lead for an NL team to overcome.

Sort of off-topic: Who do think is hurt by the DH rule more? AL pitchers by and large are useless with a bat, and the AL team loses one of their best (if not the best) hitter. OTOH, NL teams usually don't have guys like Ortiz, Thome, or Sheffield sitting on their benches waiting for interleague play to roll around again. It seems to me that it hurts the NL more, especially since the AL has had home field advantage locked up in recent years. There are only a few NL pitchers that are decent with a bat, anyway.

I knew this game would be close after yesterday. I laughed at the "experts" who said it would be a seven-run game. The Rockies haven't faced an opponent like the Sox in the playoffs so far. That's not to say that the games at Coors won't be close or anything, but they have never been challenged like this. Sox still take it :)

Boston's playoffs are almost exactly like 04.

They fall behind NY 3-0, then win 8 straight games to win it all.

This year, they are behind 3-1 to Cleveland, then if the finish it off tonight, like I think they will, they win 7 straight to win it all.

Hard to believe that this Sox team has batted around 6 different times in the playoffs. Is this the best offensive team in recent playoff history? I think we can make an argument for it.
