TORONTO (AP) _ The Toronto Raptors hired Tony Brown, Bob Beyer and Jim Sann as assistants to new coach Kevin O'Neill on Tuesday.
The Raptors also named Ron Oliver video coordinator and Shaun Brown the team's strength and conditioning coordinator.
O'Neill also rehired assistant Jay Triano, a Canadian who was let go shortly after O'Neill was hired in June. Triano is the head coach of Canada's national team.
``He's the only Canadian coach in the NBA and I think he needs to be a part of our team,'' O'Neill said.
Tony Brown, an assistant with O'Neill in Detroit the last two seasons, will be the lead assistant. He is a seven-year NBA veteran who has spent six years as an assistant coach.
Beyer was an assistant at Texas Tech under Bob Knight the past two seasons. It's the second time O'Neill has hired Beyer as an assistant _ the first was in 1997 at Northwestern University. This is Beyer's first NBA job.
``He's just got done working for Bob Knight so this situation will be easy for him,'' O'Neill said.
Sann was the director of basketball administration for the New York Knicks, and Oliver worked as the video coordinator for Detroit the past three seasons.
Shaun Brown spent six seasons as the strength and conditioning coach of the Boston Celtics.
Craig Neil and Walker D. Russell, who served as assistants under former coach Lenny Wilkens, will continue with the organization as scouts.
Assistant coach Dick Helm and strength and conditioning coach Ron De Angelo will not return.
