Did his team win?

No lost by 2. Boozer had a monster game for my fantasy team though. 28 points and 10 rebounds. Lot's of TO's though, but I always lose on that anyway.

Philly needs to do something. I have been saying it for years. They haven't been the same since the year they went to the finals and lost to LA. AI is an amazing player, no one can deny that. I don't care if you see him as a thug a gansta or whatever. What he does on the basketball court is due to pure talent. Sadly, he has been wasting it for years here in Philly. He needs a better supporting caste, at least one other player to help him. He can't do it himself, while the rest of the team watches on--even if he scores 50 pts for the rest of the season.

On a side note, I thought Korver would be the perfect complement to AI this season. That kid is deadly from 3pt range. He's still too inconsistent I think.

Philly w/Iverson = Lakers w/Kobe. Two great players who can't do it all by themselves who drive the people the need the most away from them.

^^^Please, no NBA player can compare to Kobe and his ego. AI is not as selfish as many believe him to be. He has a lot more character that people realize. He does a lot of charaity and fundraising activities here in Philly. In fact, last week he was at some hospital giving out toys to the kids--can't say I ever heard of Kobe doing that. As for AI driving away the people the team needs most, I am guessing you are refering to either coach Brown. Well, AI managed to be co captain of the Olympics team where Brown coached, and showed a lot of heart and worked well with Brown then. How would Kobe have done if he was there, with Phil Jackson coaching?

Kobe would never spend the summer playing basketball.

An efficient game from AI. 51 points on only 31 shots? That's sick.

Bad assist to turnover ratio though.

I thought this was going to be about Yao and Tmac combining for 74.

Damn, 40 points from Yao.

one guy alone taking 31 shots is pretty selfish.

That's pretty stupid T Park since he is pretty much the only player on that team.

But points and talent aside...the guy is a moron plain and simple. His ego is as big as any. The guy would rather sit out a game than come off the bench when he's coming off an injury. It's an amazing thing when he cries about "superstars don't come off the bench, olympic athletes don't come off the bench", when a few days later....Tim Duncan does exactly that, and doesn't say a word about coming off the bench.

Wow... all those points and still an L. What a shame since at the end of the season team wins trump individual scoring.

On the surface, they seem like similar situations... except that Kobe's team is a Playoff team in the West, and Iverson's team is a Lotto team in the East. Kobe also does a better job of involving his teammates when his shot is not falling. Last night, he shot 2-16 with 8 assists.

But you certainly can't FAULT Iverson for his team's failures. He really has no help whatsoever. When Kyle Korver and Marc Jackson are arguably your second/third options on offense, your team is screwed whether Iverson or Michael Jordan is running the 2.

What a deliberately sneaky and uninformative title. If I'd known the real subject matter I woulnd't have looked.

Not if he's hitting. It's not like he was going Kobe and shooting 12.5%.

The other night when AI went for 58 the 76ers team had 26 assists on 36 baskets, nothing "selfish" about that.

My complaint against Iverson was always that his pt/FGA were WAY too low for someone who shoots that much. If he's hitting at 1.67, you LET him fucking SHOOT. That's world class.

Iverson is bad ass.

I have no complaints because he is not a Spur, I don't give a crap if he quits tomorrow.
