Right now, they are showing the one where the dude's dressed up as a pimp/cholo for Suzuki Quality. Man I hope out of towners are asleep because boy this shit is pathetic and embarrasing! I gotta listen to this shit because I'm at my fiance's house and their cable is out and there's nothing else on to turn to. Damn, can't they find better commercials to do? I mean I know it's late and most people are in bed but shit. That Americus Diamond's one gets really annoying too.

Local Auto Dealer Closes Shop, Cites Economy
A local car dealership that advertised its relatively easy financing found itself on the short end of the credit crunch across the nation.
Quality Auto Group closed all 12 of its lots across the area Thursday, its general manager Steve Garrett said, citing the downturn in the national economy and rising fuel prices.
"It's been a choice of Quality due to all the economic scenarios," he said. "It's been a tough, tough year."
The auto seller catered to people with poor credit, claiming "everybody rides," but Garrett said the company's financing resources dried up.
Employees who are now out of a job and customers awaiting license plates and warranty information will be taken care of, Garrett said.
"Nobody's going to be dangling," he said. "(We'll) make sure all of our customers are taken care of."

I would cite THAT as the main reason why they closed shop.
Someday, businesses might wise up to the whole "bad credit, theres a reason for it"

I'm not totally disagreeing with you, but there is something to be said about the difference between people who have struggled with credit and people who (through their own fault as well as those of the lenders) got into crazy subprime mortgages.

I just happened to come across it a week or so ago while looking for something else, so I remembered it was here.

The marginal credit market is a good one. T Park is supposing that all challenged credit people are slackers and that is far from true. Medical issues, divorces, or when a good-paying person that experiences a lay-off and extended job hunt are some factors. Not to mention being a non-citizen-they are some of the best prospects, they can be quite diligent about paying bills. Personal reverses can happen to younger people before they have had a chance to build a nest egg to fall back upon or it can happen to older people that find re-entering the job market too tasking for the savings they have accumulated. That doesn't make them slackers and, if they are on the rebound, they aren't necessarily bad risks.
I am sure the folks at Quality knew their business well but it is a puzzle. I think I could have lined them up with a finance source. It may have involved some changes in their business model.

There is.
I'm not disputing that. But having a "bad credit? Thats cool" Policy is ok, if you anticipate someones gonna stiff you.

Never doubted that a bit.
I don't think having to have good credit is "racist" or prejudice, it should just be a standard of common sense.

Chop,
No one is going to say this because it's politically incorrect but it's the people's fault they took the money. In the end, that's all that matters. You - Joe Sixpack - took a loan you knew your ass would never make in 45 years of selling SubQuality Suzuki's. Lending institutions should have never put that porkrib out there so I'm not saying this economic mess isn't there fault but when people are bitching about the loans they took themselves that's just making excuses.
The world isn't fair. Some people are going to screw you. Some people might eat your lunch. Some people are going to steal your money. Some people are going to put you in a bad spot. By the time your 18 and ^ you better get smart and know what you're getting into. If you don't, it's on you and unless you've got some magic parashute like your parents or friends it's game over.
