I might have traded him for Wade at one point, as they are both the same type of player. Who'd have thought it, but it looks like Manu is the more durable of the two. Wade's still younger and more athletic. Other than that, I wouldn't even think of it. Manu's a big game guy. There aren't many people that are more clutch.

Trading Manu for anyone would be a bad move. Manu is an integral part of a multiple Championship team and has been nothing but the perfect team player.

There are players out there who would make this team better in the short run, but trading Manu for, say, Kobe, would send a message to the league that the Spurs are not as loyal to their players as once thought. Given the troubles we already have attracting free agents, we don't need to damage that reputation.

The Spurs have a perfect mix of personality and talent with their key players right now. You don't mess with that unless you have to.

I'd trade Manu for Howard any day.

Realistically speaking, cost/talent wise, there is nobody out there as good and affordable as Manu

Kobe, LeBron, Wade, Vince, T-Mac, KG, Amare, Dirk (make fun of him all you want, but that's a trade you make), Dwight Howard, Paul Pierce, Yao Ming.

There are other players that I'd probably trade him for as well, but those are players I definitely would trade Manu for. Other players like Gasol, Oden, Bosh, Gerald Wallace, Joe Johnson I'd probably make the trade for as well, but it's arguable.

It would be hard to trade Manu because of the type of player he is. He does not mind coming off the bench because he knows its better for the team. You don't find players like that very often.

One thing is for sure, if Manu is on Market now, he would be much more popular than Kobe!

So basically every trade that's been mentioned in this thread can't be done.

we're not precisely talking about a real one... this is more of heart value we're talking about... any ideas for an actual good deal? like.. Barbosa and Bell for Manu? would that be possible?

Ideally, I'd like to see him retire a Spur, but I won't begrudge him leaving if someone overpays to lure him away in the twilight of his career (in 3-4 years).

The point is, when you'd only consider trading a player for superstars that make twice as much as he does or for multiple players at his pay level, that says something about his performance and contribution to the team.
