Well first, I am a 10th grade student at Del Rio High School about 150 miles away from San Antonio. My friends in my Algebra class are always talking sports with my teacher. And Friday, our teacher was absent. We had a substitute teacher that went by Mr. Blanks. It was quiet that whole period, and then about 30 minutes into class one of my friends Carson ended the silence and asked him if he were watching the World Series. He said that he doesn't watch all of it, that he'll catch an inning from time to time. We kept having some small talk with him until the end of class. And just about 10 minutes ago Carson called me up. He told me that the substitute was Larvell "Sugar Bear" Banks (http://www.baseball-almanac.com/players/player.php?p=blankla01) from the Braves! OMG I was like "holy crap!". It turns out he was born in Del Rio and he has been with the school for awhile and just revealed today or Friday that he was the Larvell Blanks. He wasn't a huge player but still. That was the first time I actually had a conversation with a professional sports player! I definitely need a trading card of him to be signed now!
