If he can be there I have no problem with it.

I always figured he had to be worth something in practice and that's why they kept him around so long. So, he was part of this Championship even if we couldn't see any value from him.

they have too

Tony Massenburg was there for the 06 collection(I THINK), I honestly feel bad for Beno

I think they should. It would reflect negatively on the Spurs not on Beno if they didn't.

Of course the most hygienic solution would be if he realized what really happened (has been happening for a year) and decides not to show up (citing medical reason or something similar) and then proceed to quietly go away. But seeing how good his diplomatic skills were so far, I'm not holding my breath.

If he's not on another team (except Portland, I guess), of course.

The best would be if he came and then grabbed the mike and blasted the Spurs for keeping him down.

You think CIA Pop wouldn't have snipers positioned around the arena?

You think CIA Pop wouldn't have snipers positioned around the arena? That would be even cooler than when the sprinklers went off.

I hope Beno is there to get his ring with his ( former :( ) team mates.
Also, I would like to see him one more time before he moves wherever he is headed.

He's headed downtown for a few nights, methinks.

I was thinking of him bleeding out after being shot. That water cannon went forever, and we all know Beno has no functional heart. :devil

:lol That would be funny.

I think that the Spurs would allow him to be there. But I don't think he will.

There was no ring ceremony in '06. We lost to Dallas.

Don't think. You'll only hurt the ball club.

I have no malice towards Beno.

It's always sad for me with a Spur doesn't work out, even when the failure is due to lack of fire and effort.

Yeah he should come to the ring ceremony.

The fans are coming down on Beno because he didn't play hard, and he turned into a whiner who badmouthed the team and Pop at the end of his career.

You can't do that in SA...

It's not real hard to figure out how to win the SA fans over...

You hustle. That's all you gotta do...doesn't matter what talent you have. If you play hard, you'll win them over.

Just ask Malik Rose...and Avery Johnson.

Beno, did not play hard...he thought talent was enough to get by...even Tim Duncan doesn't rely on talent to get by. Where in the hell does Beno get off doing that?

And never ever ever, badmouth the team and coach when you've played as poorly and lazily as Beno has...while you are pulling down millions of dollars a year in salary.

I know a lot of people feel sorry for Beno...

But the fact is, he's got 2 rings, he really didn't do much to earn. He's made millions, he's been given lots of chances....and he never took advantage of the opportunity, and then he started the blame game.

And it's not like Pop came down on him harder than anyone...Pop handled him with kid gloves...Pop was easier on him than anyone that I can think of.

Tony Parker is the guy Pop came down on...harder than anyone.

Sorry Beno...it just doesn't fly, you aren't the victim here.

That said...he was part of the team last year so he deserves his ring and banning him from the ceremony would be uncalled for...I'm just glad he's not on the team anymore...

He doesn't deserve to play for the Spurs from this year on after his comments. He does not deserve it.

But the ring was last years business, and he did keep his mouth shut last year, so he might as well participate...

wtf? Beno was lazy?? Beno was a shitty. Period. He lacked NBA skills, he lacked everything... shit... Beno wasn't lazy, he just plained sucked.

What time are they doing the ring ceremony? 7 pm CST?

milkyway21
10-30-2007, 02:53 AM
why not?

I hope Beno learned his lesson and keep himself motivated to improve his play and be an asset to his new team. It's not the end of the journey for him to play in a team like Minnesota. Who knows he can upped his minutes and stats this yr and earn a second look in the next season or before trading deadline. He got 2 rings with the Spurs. At least he has something to look back to and feel he has accomplished something even if he sat most of the playoffs than play. He played alongside Duncan and the 4-time champs Spurs. That's already an accomplishment. Move forward. Work harder. Show what you got.

I'm sure the Spurs fans incl the haters will be proud if they see you making a name for yourself than fail.
