I really like these. Almost as much as I liked the first championship rings with the onyx background.
Very nice. But then, I prefer yellow gold.

ATTLEBORO, MA – Masters of Design, a Cookson company, has designed and manufactured the San Antonio Spurs’ 2007 NBA Championship rings.
“We worked with Masters of Design when we won the 1999, 2003 and 2005 NBA Championships and were very pleased with not only our Championship rings, but with the entire Championship program. They instituted a program for our fans so that all Spurs’ enthusiasts were able to share in the momentous event,” said Russ Bookbinder, executive vice president of business operations for Spurs Sports & Entertainment. “And, we’re excited about our unique Championship ring design this year and an after-market program that will exceed our supporters’ expectations.”
The rings were manufactured at Masters of Design’s headquarters and manufacturing facility, located in Attleboro, Massachusetts. The NBA Championship rings were unveiled and distributed to Spurs’ players and coaches during a pre-game ceremony on October 30, 2007.
“We are extremely excited to have been chosen once again by the Spurs. We enjoyed working with the entire organization in 1999, 2003 and 2005 and know that for this Championship, we created a design as spectacular as their previous rings while representing this Championship season,” said Bob Bourbeau, director of sports and special markets division for Masters of Design.
Masters of Design has manufactured Championship rings for the Arizona Diamondbacks, the San Francisco Giants and for the three NBA Championships for the Los Angeles Lakers. Masters of Design produces custom designed products for championship teams and athletes around the world.
“What makes it exciting for Masters of Design is that each Championship ring we manufacture is unique to each organization and represents their vision and their achievements,” continued Bourbeau

Taco...it refers to this quote by Jacob Riis.
“When nothing seems to help, I go look at a stonecutter hammering away at his rock perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundred and first blow it will split in two, and I know it was not that blow that did it, but all that had gone before.”

It's the stonecutter theme. I believe it was the theme of the first title run. Pop had it hanging up in the office, or lockeroom. You know the tale. 999 blows to the stone and it didn't break, but on the 1000 blow the stone finally cracked. Something like that. The "moral" of the story is that each hit was as significant as the first. It has something to do with teamwork, but it's thursday and I'm in no mood to decode Pop's Theology.
