lots of folks said you could tell how serious duncan was based on how he came into the year. how'd he look?

He looked in GREAT shape - very agile and quick down the court. Loose.

He looked the same as every other season to me.

Most of his moves when he caught the ball were immediate and quick, rather than holding the ball while the rest of the Spurs stood and watched and the defense adjusted.

If he's broken that ball-holding/offense-stalling habit, then we're in for a great season.

He looked good to me.
I think he looked a little leaner coming into camp last year, but he moved well last night so it doesn't concern me.
What I look for, besides the "game shape" he needs to be in, is the attitude he displays on and off the court in camp and the first few games.
He had a chip on his shoulder last year. It made him hungrier.
I see that hunger again, this time for a repeat.
I hear his confidence in his teammates.

It's early, it's a long season. There will be peaks and valleys.
But I like our chances, and I always rate our chances based on Duncan's health and attitude.
