I'd consider it anything but a dress suit and the five inch pumps I've been wearing for the past three weeks, but I work at a place where it's business and nothing else.

i guess i didn't answer the question....i'd say pants and a polo and a belt. shirt has to be tucked in.

Slacks or dress pants (not jeans)....polo cut shirt or button long sleeve (not t-shirt or variation)...shoes (not tennis shoes)...and not the full suit route...tie not needed nor coat jacket....I believe that's pretty much Business Casual...

I hate business casual because it means different things. I just got a second interview, first face to face, to be held in a couple of weeks and ugh, they tell me to wear business casual, since they aren't 'overly formal' - well, around campus (same campus, different college), that could mean anything from slacks and a fitted button down to capris and a v-neck t-shirt (not that I would wear capris to an interview, because of my tattoos). I planned on (and still plan on) wearing nice slacks and a new blouse I just got. But I'm wondering if I'll have to buy new clothes for this job, because my current place is super casual.

I had to go home and change on halloween cuz part of my costume involved me wearing shorts. SHORTS. Business casual is a lie.

At my job, slacks or khaki-style pants and either a blouse or a shirt with a collar is considered business casual. I'm also on a college campus, and I find myself completely overdressed compared to the half-naked female students.

It depends on where you work. But I think in most places, business casual for men would be khaki pants, Dockers or cotton/twill pants like that with a button down shirt, polo shirt of sweater. No coat or tie. And definitely no sneakers. Loafers or some leather lace-ups of some sort. Some business allow jeans for business casual if they are paired with a tucked in shirt and some shoes other than sneakers or sandals.

For women .. sweater set, pencil skirt and flats/low-heels. Blouse or sweater with knit pants or twill pants. No suit or blazer. No extremely high heels. Some places would say no open toe or open back shoes, but I think peep-toes, slingbacks and slides are all fine depending on the style. Obviously no flip-flops, sneakers or jeans.
