They got him last year, undrafted. He is their undersized third string pg. What he lacks in height he puts on will.

Yeah, the thing that its usually criticized its his height but the kid loves to play.

I enjoyed seeing him defending the post against a guy at least one foot taller than him. Funny thing is, the guy missed.

JJ is a lot of fun to watch. I didn't mind Devin being out tonight because it meant we got to see more minutes from JJ.

Barea will be starting for the Mavs by next year by earning that spot over Terry and Harris. Book it. The guy was a MAJOR steal.

dont know if he WILL BE, but agree he should be. devin harris is ok, but i do believe jj is a better player. he seems tougher too.

The guy is a gamer, especially on offense, it is just that I believe he is at a huge disadvantage because of his height and teams will exploit that to no end. But he could still recieve minutes in this league. I just wish I could put his shooting touch, passing, and court vision into Devin's body.

The worst people can do is overhype the kid. Let him be what he is and let him develop, if he turns into an asset, perfect. If not, he was undrafted.

I don't know about that one. I'm just an outside Mavericks observer, but Harris seemingly gets the edge because of his ability to defend and create shots for others. I would think those two attributes would be HUGE for Avery.
