I don't get how some believe they are the best NFC team right now. How can they be better than the Packers when the Packers beat them 35-13 at the Meadowlands? Not to mention the Cowboys...

They've been feasting on some of the worst NFL teams the last 4 weeks and when they've faced decent NFC competition, they lost both games by a combined score of 80-48. The Lions lost both their games by a combined score of 90-24.

Let's compare their 6 wins with the Lions 6 wins:

Scoring AVG.

NYG 25 OPP 13 Opposition combined record: 13-36

Lions 29 OPP 16 Opposition combined record: 19-30

Granted, two of the Giants' wins have come against the two teams that drilled the Lions, but, like the Lions, the Giants have a lot to prove to be considered a legitimate NFC contender, IMO.

The top six teams in the NFC are very close. The Cowboys are probably the best right now but it really depends on matchups.

Well the Giants had a very good chance at the end of the Cowboy game to win but, they lost Eli, therefore their drive ended! Plus in this game they lost a hand full of key players.

That should be a great game.

The same could be said about a lot of teams, like the Patriots. Their record against teams that are actually worth a damn is 2-0. And I hesitate to consider the Cowboys a team that's worth a damn when they are lining up across from the Patriots.

Sure, but if the Pats lost those games and the other teams had a better record, I wouldn't consider them a better team.

That's exactly what's happening with the Giants.

Giants are about as good as any other NFC team. Let's face it, it's the Patriots, the Colts and everybody else. Saying the Giants are the best team in the NFC is like saying Coach Mangino is the slimmest looking 500 pound man.

I think the Giants are about as good as both Dallas and Green Bay. I would say Dallas and Green Bay are better, but they're "about" the same. The Giants defense has played much better since the first two games of the season. Granted, they haven't faced very good offense since the Cowboys and Packers. But, I still think they're a solid NFC team.

It should be a good game between the Giants and Lions. I don't think either team is really as good as the 6-2 record they have. Lions have played well at home. But, they also don't have anyone who can cover Plaxico Buress.

Depends on Eli Manning.

You never know which one you'll get- the confident one or the one who looks like a deer in headlights.

Well we lost Ferguson in that game and didn't have Newman or Ellis either. Both Newman and Ellis will be playing in this one as well as Tank playing to clog up the middle.

our safety play was horrendous as well. Roy Williams was exposed big time. he will be the defensive key to this game

In the current century, yes. Plus, what was that team that smoked the Cowboys, in Dallas, by 21 points a few weeks ago? What was the name of that team again? :p:

There is no team more hated and loved than the Dallas Cowboys.
There is no team that pulls in the highest ratings consistently as the Dallas Cowboys.
Nobody was a Patriot fan before 2001 except for people in Boston.
You may have been successful this century. The Cowboys are still historically the more superior franchise.
Dallas is still America's Team. As Ditka said on Sunday, the Patriots will NEVER be America's Team.

The Giants scored 13 points against the Dolphins, the least amount against the Dolphins d all year. Manning threw for 59 yards. The Boys will harrass him all day an he the Giants wont score over 20 points. The last four teams they played are four of the worst teams in football. Its pretty easy to make your defense (especially a very suspect secondary) look good against Harrington, Dilfer, Lemon and Pennington.

Eli is very inconsistent this year. Also, he has more interceptions than touchdowns in the past 6 games. They only have not played any decent offense since Green Bay.

"america's team" is a marketing pitch and nothing more, anyone who thinks otherwise is a dipshit. Also is dallas was america's team then it's been pretty shitty for america for the past 11 years huh?

Than I guess this country was. I also guess that marketing pitch works huh. Considering Dallas had ESPN's, CBS, Fox, and NBC's highest rating NFL games ever for each respective network in 2006. It is no coincedence that there are Cowboy fans in every corner of this country. I live in Washington D.C. now and the second largest fanbase in this area is the Dallas Cowboys. And most Cowboy fans up here never set foot in Texas. It is the same around this country. Like I said, no team is mroe hated or loved in the nfl than the Dallas Cowboys.

America's Team is only a name and it is the Dallas Cowboys and I and many other Cowboy fan LOVE the jealousy in a name that is so revered.

So, Cleveland made Lebron James famous??

I don't mean to side with popshark but I do agree that sports media marginally responsible for some of the most overrated sports stars out there. Experts and TV analysts can't make athletes perform like a bust, but when you have people saying "this dude is the next MJ" or "this dude is the next Joe Montana" or some shit like that, and the dude ends up a bust, who is really to blame for most people thinking said athlete was a stud when they're really a bust?

Romo is legit, but I can definitely see people saying that the media made Lebron more famous than he should be.

Hmm, the Giants have beaten the Jets, Niners, Eagles at home, the Falcons, Dolphins and Skins on the road. Not like the Cowboys have played the toughest schedule themselves, but why am I supposed to fear the G-Men? They don't have a single quality win.

People tune in to see Dallas win. People also tune in to see them lose. They are a rating guarantee, which is why the NFL left them in the Eastern Division of the NFC, when logically, that makes no sense.

They are America's team in the sense that most either love or revile them, but cannot resist watching, which is all good for the NFL.

This is very true. While I don't hate the Cowboys, I have watched their games just to see if they would lose. Today is a good example.
