Dude, Scola is a rookie in his first season in the NBA :rolleyes
That doesn't mean anything... people on here touted him as the next God of the league. Manu was extremely impressive in not only his first season, but his first game... the same can't be said for Scola.
He's a supposed Argentinian League vet and multiple MVP, but he sucks balls in the NBA because the refs don't suck him off like they did in the Olympics. I watched that guy maul Boozer and Duncan repeatedly in Athens while racking up no fouls.
Oh and he's uglier than Oberto, which I didn't think was possible.

No, no it's really not. The idea that losing is a "good thing" is a fan creation. The Spurs are going to improve to the same point by the end of the year whether they lose 2 games in the Fall or 15. If they only lose 2 games, it means they're already close to where they need to be. If they lose 15, they'll have more growing to do, but they'll still end at the same place.

No, he's right. The Suns do look weak this year. You would think after playoff failure upon playoff failure that team would FINALLY focus on start playing some damn defense. Looks to me like they haven't learned shit.
It feels like we're down 25.

You know, I realize the Spurs have been an immensely successful team and have a nice shot at winning another title this year, but it's pretty hilarious that you're claiming an asskicking by Houston would somehow be a good thing.
We got our butts kicked without McGrady, that was horrible. This forum had gone nuts and they thought there was ZERO chance a championship is gonna happen. Well looky now. :lol
Hopefully Duncan gets it done though, but really Im looking forward to the Spurs' first loss of the season rather than another win.
timvp
11-06-2007, 09:49 PM
-Duncan is off. Part of the problem is this is the first game he's actually had to work for his shots.
-I like Manu's energy but he needs to use another shot other than his flip over Yao. Plus I don't want to see Manu vs. Bonzi defensivley anymore.
-Parker needs to stop with the jumper and go right at Alston. He has a big strength advantage in that matchup.
-Bowen playing well. Can't really defend TMac much better.
-Oberto a quiet seven minutes.
-Elson was really good in the first quarter. Elson was really bad in the second quarter.
-Finley needs to only shoot wide open threes.
-Barry do much but the three was nice.
-Washington should have gotten a couple more minutes. This game isn't that important and I'd like to see what he could do in this situation.
-Bonner sucked defensively and was invisible offensively. Bad combo.

No, no it's really not. The idea that losing is a "good thing" is a fan creation.Nah, it's a good thing if it makes them address the problems that caused the loss. Usually the good losses happen to worse teams, but this will do in November.
The Spurs are going to improve to the same point by the end of the year whether they lose 2 games in the Fall or 15. If they only lose 2 games, it means they're already close to where they need to be. If they lose 15, they'll have more growing to do, but they'll still end at the same place.Regular season records are the sole concern of the mavfan.

How they're only down 13 after playing that horribly is beyond me. The defense hasn't been bad but the defensive boards have been about the worst I've seen in years. There's no energy on the floor in the 1st half, and this just may be one of those games. We'll see what they bring in the 2nd half.

Again, that's just what fans tell themselves to feel better about a loss at the time it occurs (which you guys really dont need to be doing anyway , given history).
The Spurs wont be any better or worse at the end of the year if they're 65-17 than they will if they are 55-27. They'll be the same old playoff ass-kicking Spurs who will have a good shot at a title.
I'm all about the "facing adversity" notion, but this isn't adversity. A 4 time champion can't experience much adversity in the regular season.
