I have a feeling the Suns will find out on Friday. I don't know why but I get a feeling Wade will be activated for the game. Hopefully he decides to sit out the game.

I think he should take another 2 or 3 weeks to heal. What's the rush?

Surprisingly good game. I was expecting less challenge from Miami without Dwade.
I think the team's slowly been getting it together. The first week, they were a legimate worst team in the league. And their record reflected them accurately.

Or maybe San Antonio's still being too nice.

Much better on the boards by the team.

I don't understand why Udoka couldn't get some minutes tonight.

I didn't like how Finley and Bowen didn't just catch and shoot but dribbled away or passed out. Either one should be afraid to shoot even on a bad night.

It was nice for Jason Williams to piss off Manu Ginobili

Sounds like Manu played out of his mind today! Great to hear he's back to his old self. Good game by Tony as well! :tu

The Heat had a hard time containing Parker, who scored 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting in the first half, including a 3-pointer in the first quarter. It's a shot Parker, who is usually seen cutting through the lane on his way to the basket, has been testing out a bit more.

Haslem and Williams were each 4-of-5 in the first half, for eight points apiece.

I hope Ginobilli skips the olympics.

We are gonna send our cousins to visit him in case he decided not to go :smokin

I agree. That pissed me off. Why the f--- are they even in the game if not to take wide open shots on the 3pt line? (Well, Bowen I'll excuse, cause we know he's there for D.)

On the positive side:
1. Manu is SICK. Just unbelievable tonight in every single way. Both ends of the court.
2. Elson played with energy and passion tonight. I loved that dunk he made late in the game. I didn't think he had a chance in hell of making it to the rim from where he jumped, but he not only made it, but dunked right through an opponent. His outside shot is looking good too. If he can keep it up, it'll totally open up the paint for Tony and Manu to do their slashing.
3. Tony's speed continues to amaze me. He clearly has one more gear than anyone else in the league (except for maybe Barbosa, but please...). And with an outside shot that continues to improve, he is getting scary.
4. Tim is pacing himself. It's clear. He knows this is a marathon, not a sprint.

On an unrelated note, the Celtics are looking as amazing as they sound on paper. They demolished the Nuggets tonight in a brutal, dominating fashion. Celtucs may have replaced the Suns as the most "exciting" team to watch, but they actually play defense.

Don't know if it's been mentioned, but is anyone else puzzled about the short rotation this early? Could someone that's seen all the games tell me if Washington screwed up his chance already? I'm not sure how, when Fin and Barry were playing so badly and nobody could hit an open jumper, that Udoka didn't get some minutes, nor am I entirely sure how Washington couldn't get into the game to keep from having to play parker for 41 minutes. Seeing the 4 minutes and 1 turnover in the Houston box doesn't make me optimistic.

I'm not being critical, but perhaps I'm missing the logic. If someone could 'splain.

I don't understand it myself. I've watched every game so far, and I haven't seen anything from Washington that would prevent him from getting even 9 to 10 min a night. He hustles on D and after loose balls and plays pretty good position D from the point, but he does have a tendency to shoot at the wrong times and out of the flow of the offense. I still don't think that's an excuse to not give him at least 7 minutes and push Parker back to 34 or so.

I'm also puzzled about Udoka. I know his defensive rotations aren't down yet, but this is the time of year that he needs to get them down. I don't know if Pop wants a quick start out of the gate or if he wants to get his big boys some regular work for a while before reeling them in. Either way, Parker's minutes seem way too high for November, but maybe Pop thinks he needs the work after taking most of the preseason off? If Barry's sprained ankle keeps him out for a couple of weeks or more then I'd think both Udoka and Washington will get a few more minutes. But who knows...

Ginobili is playing at a higher level than in 2005.

Parker looks rusty, but is still playing all star level.

They keep this up, it will be hard for the AS Team not to have 3 Spurs on it.

Still 2.. minus Duncan.. :smokin

I think part of it is coming from Pop's confusion over how to rotate a bench this deep. I think Washington's mistakes have hurt his time on the floor, but I would hope not to the detriment of actually spelling Parker. But also contributing, imo, is what you mention - the fact that Parker skipped preseason and he has looked it. He's looked rusty and his shot has been off to some degree. I also think Pop is not looking to get people used to Washington, on the idea that he's going down to Austin soon as Vaughn is back to work on things.

I think another part of it is that the first unit hasn't played well yet. I think he's trying to get them back into the rhythm and that he thinks time on court is the best chance of that. I don't expect to see it continue. I think Pop is trying to figure out who he wants to be the go-to guy on the wings and once he gets that down, he's going to work Udoka in more. Udoka is going to be role player, and I get the feeling that Pop is holding off until he fine tunes the starters and figures out what the role is.

At least I hope that is all true. It doesn't help that Tim and Fabs aren't playing well, and that Fin and Bonner are best described as streaky. We truly don't want to overplay anyone now. But I also think we are hyper-sensitive to the issue 5 games in because of an awareness of how the Mavs did last year and how things went the other 3 times we played a season after a championship.

Definitely a step up from Tuesday's game with the Rockets but nothing great.

We'll see what they do against New Orleans tomorrow night.

Pop needs a haircut. Too old for that stringy gray mess hanging down his neck.
