At our rink it was "I Fought the Law" by Bobby Fuller. That song was ancient then but since it was in El Paso, and Bobby Fuller was from El Paso, there was some sort of significance to the DJ.

1978-79 not sure I was young and high! It was Chicago I was at a roller skating rink right next to the theater that was showing Grease. I was with a friend of mine who was high up in the Lating King ranks and we was in the white part of Noridge Illinois the gang was called get this! "The GayLords" :lmao

any way that is another story....but inside the skating ring it was the so called "last Skate" couples only! .. and the song was "lights" by Journey. very romantic! I was all alone with no one to skate with.........

I will never forget that night as log as I live!

“Chic” Good times...
High School... Disco... Roller skates...Why did any of it have to end... :dramaquee

A rumor has it that it's getting late
Time marches on, just can't wait
The clock keeps turning, why hesitate
You silly fool, you can't change your fate
Let's cug the rug, a little jive and jitterbug
We want the best, we won't settle for less
Don't be a drag, participate
Clams on the half shell and roller-skates, roller-skates

I never learned to skate, but I was always at the skating rink.

They always played everything by ELO.

Everytime I listen to them, I remember the skating rink.

Pffffft. You haven't skated unless you learned how to skate on these bad boys. And if you lost the key, well you were SOL. Of course, they would always come loose and you'd go flying.

Shoog would remember those days...

The Grand Funk version? I used to think that one was the original and the "remake" was just plain bad.
