Hey I just heard a rumor that the Hannah Montana concert for tomorrow is cancelled and will be officially announced today at 2pm. Anyone know anything? Believe me I will have absolutely no heartburn not being there, but for my 11yr old it will be tragic!!

$153 dollars for seats in section 200 :wow

So was Anette Funacello(sp) from the original Mickey Mouse Club.

And, it is sad to see a grown adult going crazy over a kiddie concert where the little girl is going to be lip synching.

I once again thank God I don't have daughters. I would be the worst mom in the world because there is no way on God's green earth I would pay $208 or any triple-digit number for my kid to go to a concert. That's just insane. And we can afford it. I bet there are tons of families going into debt over this crap.

Believe me, I surprise myself over this stuff too! On the morning of the presale, I sat in front of the computer, my daughter's Hannah Montana Fan Club membership card in hand and counted down until exactly 10am as I had been instructed!! My mom would have NEVER done that for me! And she'd shit if she knew I did it! The only good thing is I got right on and got good seats at face value!

It's not just girls. Both my nephews are obsessed. They come over at least 2x a week for several hours and that's the first thing they want to watch. One is 3 and one is 9. The 3yo is fine with his fandom but the 9yo tries to pretend like he doesn't like the show. I guess it's not "cool" for boys to like it. But he totally has a crush on her.

My friend and I counted twelve identical tour buses as we were leaving work in addition to the one set up for that tour thing!

mrsmaalox

Well I survived! Forgot my earplugs, but the vodka hit the spot. We were able to avoid that clusterf*ck of a tour bus party: the girls saw the line and I threw in a well-timed offer of "Ultimate Super Duper Triple Whammy Extreme Nachos". I now call those "GutBomb Nachos". But it was all typical Disney...very expensive. T-shirts going for $55. A cheap souvenir was the program book ($20) that was unavoidable because of the hawkers standing in front of every little girl saying "You are going to be the only girl without one!" Of course I saw thousands of parents with bags and bags of the stuff! As far as the show went, the Jonas Bros were very cute (or HOT as the little girls say). They seemed talented, I couldn't hear any of their music because of the screaming, but they sure did look good! Then Hannah made her entrance from a box in the ceiling and was just adorable! I have to admit I was impressed with her (but I liked her already). The sound was loud of course, but the music, lights, choreography was very good. I had never seen a concert with dancers and all. It was all SO kid friendly. She Hannah/Miley is very wholesome as were her dancers. I really liked that at no time was there a half-naked skeleton girl on the stage; these girls were all quite "healthy". The other thing that impressed me: lots of families in attendance, and LOTS of father/daughter teams (Peewee take note!) The hardest part for me was seeing Hannah's ADORABLE outfits and trying to not want each one for my daughter! But I feel myself weakening and I sense Dillard's calling to me! The worst part, besides the hearing loss, was seeing all the "cycle slut" looking moms in VERY skimpy Hannah-esque outfits. Traffic, not bad. Now that it is all over, I'm glad I was there with my girl!!!
