He's one of my favorite actors. I figure he at least deserves a thread in his honor.

It's so hard for me to decide my favorite, but I'd probably have to go with Blazing Saddles.

Love that movie.

1a. "No, it's pronounced Fronk-en-SHTEEN!"
1b. "Well, two naughty, nasty little children gone. Three good, sweet little children left."
2. "My name is Jim, but most people call me . . . Jim."
3. "I'm in pain and I'm hysterical! I'm in pain and I'm wet . . . and I'm still hysterical!
4. "We bad, uh huh!"

He's good in all his movies. I like the ones listed here, but I'll add The Frisco Kid and Everything you wanted to know about sex.

"Young Frankenstein" is wonderful! And I've always liked the sappy "Funny About Love", but for me it has to be "Willy Wonka". I was so young but I swear I had my first sexual turn on during that film!!!! And I think I had my first orgasm when he sang "The Candy Man"! :lol

He doesn't sing "The Candy Man." The clerk at the candy store does.

After giving this some thought, I'm going to have to go with a three way tie between Willy Wonka, The Producers, and Young Frankenstein.

Either way, it's erotic how someone can have an orgasm to that song.

The scene stealing appearance in Bonnie and Clyde is pretty good too..albeit, brief.

Well you ain't gonna see one here. I am quite positive Funt could mop the floor with me (I say that with all due respect , of course). I will retreat now and hide until the coast is clear.

I like the Frisco Kid.

I think EASILY he was the most brilliant in "The Frisco Kid". Difficult role and accent to pull off AND make funny...and this movie is one of my favorites. It's a bit obscure and I doubt many have watched it, but easily my favorite.

Why did everybody forget STIR CRAZY!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Stir Crazy a CLOSE second...

Stir Crazy is magnificent and he makes an excellent pairing with Richard Prior.

What about "Hear No Evil, See No Evil"?

I caught an interview with Gene in the past couple years.

He said he quit doing movies because people were sending him scripts and saying "make it funny". But he said "That's not what I do", meaning the material is funny and he just delivers it. Apart from his talent, he's been pretty damn fortunate to have work with the excellent writers and directors.

Sorta like Tim's awufully good, but where would he be without Pop?

It was a decent movie, but I just think they were trying to ride the chemistry and the success of Stir Crazy. I just think it was anywhere near as good. You can't duplicate the greatness of that movie, but I still have Frisco Kid as my favorite/funniest performance by Wilder. Not a bad story either as comedies go...
