The Indiana Pacers have signed James Jones, their second-round draft pick, the club announced today. Terms of the contract were not revealed.
Jones, the 49th pick overall, is a 6-8, 225-pound guard who played at the University of Miami (Fla.). In his senior year with the Hurricanes, Jones averaged 16.9 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. He finished his collegiate career 11th on the school's all-time scoring list with 1,356 points and third in blocked shots (192).
As a senior, Jones was named to the Verizon Academic All-America Second Team, the first Hurricane to receive such an honor. He also earned Big East All-Academic honors all four years at the school.
