Hey, I have a question and hope someone could help me!

My girlfriend just met an ex-Spurs-Player on a plain from Berlin to Kopenhagen. His name is Kenneth Wayne Smith ("Grasshopper") and he played for the team in 75/76(Gervin-Silas-era). Do you have any backroundinformation on him8other than his stats which I found)? He told her, that his nephews are playing in the NBA right now and I’m really curious who they are!?

:wtf :wtf :wtf

Thanks for helping!

He played 19 games for the old ABA Spurs in 75-76, scoring a grand total of 82 points in his career.

I can't find anything on Google about his nephews in the NBA. She didn't get names??

not to sure about that, as she hasnt much money while he is traveling a lot (she said to me, that he often is in leipzig)...sounds like he has some business to do

its just so funny, how my girlfriend, which followes nba and playes herself gets to meet him while knowing not to much about the spurs and beeing bothered by her die hard spurs fan (my)..wonder how she knew about...i guess he doesnt introduce himself like: "hi, I'm a former spursplayer! nice to meet you!" LOL

but I guess, my girlfriend is such a nice and funny person, that they had a nice talk

damn, she should have gotten me a autograph...which spursfan can say that he has a autograph of the famous GRASSHOPPER? :)

cant wit to hear about!

I don't think you're old enough to have a girlfriend if you can't pass third grade English.

You're probably right about that, but I also have no interest in raising conversation with a European about one of their local sports franchises.

Come on, although English is taught in school in every German speaking country all over the world there's no guarantee that one is able to master it. And in his defense - his English is not as bad as compared to the majority in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The problem here is, that unlike in the northern European countries, every tv-show and movie is synchronized which takes away the fun of every movie and tv-show (due to really bad synchronization - one example would be the simpsons: So many swear-words is literally translated into german: so many oaths).

OT: The whole story reminds me of me meeting Mike James when he used to play in Austria for a while. I met him after a game when my home-team lost to his team (St. Pölten). When he signed a contract with the Heat I was like WTF? The guy had a bad reputation here as well, although he was successful. But I guess in a country where basketball means nothing to more than 2 % of the whole population this is no surprise.

Do you mean: "You owe ME a chicken fried steak AND a beef taco."?

If so, I'll have to argue that I never took you up on the steak bet!

Anyway, what German websites are you posting on? Do they have 'Johnny Quest' fan clubs over there too?

That's a good point. But it is just that Basketball isn't nearly as popular and good as in the States. You guys have a lot of sports we don't really play. Basketball, Football, Baseball etc... So we have to troll around in English-speaking boards, talking about our favorite teams because all the basketball boards in Germany are loaded with mavs mans, seeing Dirk as their savior. It's just the lack of platforms here in Europe where you can decently discuss your favorite sport and your favorite team.

How many countries "all over the world" have German as their national language?

See...now I like you. You can clearly have a conversation in English without confusing anyone. The post that started this thread made my head spin when I tried to decipher it.

Actually, that would be any of them.

Just because you're too closed or uneducated to even try to post in a German forum, doesn't mean they shouldn't post here with a few grammar errors.

As a national language only three, as a minority language there would be a lot more.

You made it so. Stop being an arse and condescending to people because English isn't their first language. Hell, you're an American, right, so you only speak a bastardised version of the language anyway...

See what I did there? :lmao
