View Full Version : My Car is not starting. :(

Triple A is on their way.
I just pray the battery needs a charge and nothing is seriously wrong.
I don't have time for a broken car. And I would rather use my salary to pay for other things.

I hope all you need is a Battery, get a DELCO for 60.00 dollars. I got one and was happy, make sure you get the 10.00 dollar trade in on your old battery!
Good Luck and keep us posted! :tu

Thanks.
I tend to get so scared when it comes to car problems because I know nothing about cars- other than to get the oil changed and where the gas goes.
Also I have an incredibly busy schedule with working coming up. That is going to be a challenge even if everything else runs smoothly.

For a minute and then it died again.
My battery is corroded. Looks like I need a new one.
The AAA guy cleaned it off with baking soda and water. It worked long enough for me to pull the car back in the driveway. But then when I turned it off and tried to restart it- nada. :(
Is it Auto zone that will switch out the battery for you if you buy one of theirs?

No.

No.
:( That's crap. I chose not to take the "extended" warranty on the Jetta this last weekend because it would have added at least 30 extra dollars to my payment. I'll hope everything works out for you.

Consider yourself fortunate it wasn't the starter or the alternator. You can get a new battery around the 50-70 buck range. Yeah they will change it for you. At least here in MD anyway.

How long have you used your MP3 player and had to get a battery? Just think how long you have used your car and have not had to replaced it. If you divide the 60..00 dollars into two years it comes to like 2 dollars a month your car it worth that if you depend on it so much.
Sorry for the glass half full lecture I just came back from my Bi weekly Jehovah witness meeting. I also go to a Mormon church once a month. I just feel sorry for these folks when they come to my door I know no one likes to listen to them. So I try and make them feel wanted. I am a sucker for trying to be nice to visiters. It must be the Irish/Cuban in me.
But the reason I came back was to tell you and anyone else I know a "real" honest Mehcanic. If this man pays 19.00 dollars and .85 cents on a part and you give him a 20? your going to get back 15 cents! This guy replaced my Alt, Battery, and all my Belts and found out I was missing some brackets all for $235.00
The parts alone was 135.00 he only made 100.00. and I have a Nissan it's a bitch to replace the AC belt!
Anyway he looks like the Mechanic from Dukes of Hazard he is a country man with a zz top beard. and I have his phone number if you need any work.
The only thing he is slow as shit! He works during the day at Land Stabilizers and does his work on the side.
But if your a young, sexy, model/Actress like Angeluv who is rich enough to have AAA?
then I appoligize you really didn't have to read this shit in the first place :lmao

Angel, you might want to do some routine checks to make sure there isn't something draining the battery in your car.
Not saying you should worry, but I had to replace TWO batteries in my car. They just kept going dead. In two months. I had several people look it over, and no one could figure out what was killing them.
It turns out the overhead visor had worn out and was no longer depressing the button which kept the light from turning off (the little one that accompanies the mirror).
Turns out that a $2 light caused me $120 worth of batteries!
Just go around your car and make sure that it was just an old battery and not a combination of corrosion and other factors. Being sure = cheaper!

Thanks for the advice guys.
I do want to have my mechanic look the car over.
Today it was a bad battery. It was seriously corroded. But the Auto zone guy was very helpful and I am good to go now.
He checked and my alternator is fine.
The battery cost me about $66 dollars and comes with a warranty.
I also had to purchase the connectors and pay for a mile's worth of towing.
All in all it cost me around $75. but the relief I feel is truly priceless.

The reason I got an SUV because I had just been hit and my car totalled and I was afraid to be in anything but a big car.
I did not have time to get over this fear because my m mom was on her way back to China to continue her mission work and wanted to get me into a new vehicle before she left.
But please, continue to pick on me.

It's not like I have turned down any decent ( much less great offers.)
My basic criteria for considering a guy to date is that he must have a reliable car, a working cell phone, and a job to pay for both.
I have yet to find an available guy who can manage all three of those things- forget things like eye color preference, sense of humor, and intelligent level.
I know several great guys but smart girls have already claimed all of them.
It is slim pickings out here.

You really need to raise your standards.
I meant that those I posted were what I look for before I even consider going out with a guy- that if he can't manage to have a car, cell phone, and job it is an automatic no.
As in "no need for us to even talk and see if we have anything in common because it is not gonna happen."
Basically, I was just expressing my frustration that so many of the available guys I meet these days can't even manage what I consider to be the most basic of acheivement.
Guys these days have to be disqualified before I can even get down to important questions like sport's team preference.
Tis a shame! :lol
