the spurs best +/- are with Manu on the floor and Timmy at Center.
I believe that's why he was considered a Center for the next ALL STAR GAME.

LOL, hook, line, and sinker. the stats are right there buddy, he's part of the most productive 5 on the 7-2 Spurs.

Stats. what are Bowen's stats? he must suck to right?

Not an enormous surprise. It's all about spacing when Bonner is on the floor. Parking him out on the arc opens up the floor for everyone, not just Duncan.

Top group:
Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, Bruce Bowen, Matt Bonner, Tim Duncan.

Interesting top +/- group. Matt Bonner! Also noteworthy is when Bonner isn't on the court with the four best players on the team, he has a plus/minus of -5 on the season.

Big 4 + Bonner (24 minutes) = +24
Bonner in any other lineup (154 minutes = -5

Not exactly surprising since he's on the team to spread the floor for Duncan, Ginobili and Parker but that's pretty drastic.

The really misleading one is the starting line-up. Yeah they have the third best +/- overall, but it's only because they've played way more minutes with that lineup than any other. Their +/- per minute is only .158 while the others are way higher. Really, if you look at it, their starting line-up is their worst line-up.

Really, if you look at it, their starting line-up is their worst line-up.That's not overly surprising since the Spurs don't start their best lineup, yet it has to go against the best lineup the other teams have to offer. As the Spurs are constructed right now, the starting lineup could be renamed the "hold the score close until Manu enters" lineup.

Maybe they should try moving Bowen to the two spot and starting Bonner at small forward. It would help the rebounding a little and I don't think most teams we play have two great slashers at the 2 and 3 spots to the point where Bonner would be more of a defensive liability than Finley. At this point in their careers I can't really think of anything Finley does better than Bonner.

When Finley is 50 he'll still be faster than Bonner is now.
