This thread is dedicated to the 1000 things that we are thankful for this holiday season. At this time, I wanted to thank all of you for participating in the forum. It's cliche to say "without you, this wouldn't be possible." So I won't say it :)

Though Thanksgiving is a US holiday, I'm sure that everyone around the globe is thankful for something.

(We don't need to countdown from 1000, we'll know by the post count if we reach 1000.)

Happy Thanksgiving!

So, I'm start it off ...

My husband, health, success (whatever that means), SpursTalk, Manolo Blahnik shoes and a good steak.

I'd like to thank Robert Kamen for writing the screenplay to the movie that taught me many life lessons as a child and continues to be a huge part of my life, The Karate Kid. I would also like to thank Peter Engel for creating Saved by the Bell. Without the SBTB gang I wouldn't have had anyone to relate to during my adolescent years.

The Miller Brewing Company for keeping my local corner store stocked up with Olde English. Without those 40oz beers I would have completely gone crazy. And finally I would like to thank Shigeru Miyamoto for creating Super Mario. Without him the video game world would not be where it is today.

Oh yeah, and I'm also very thankful for Reggae music.

I am so thankful for my husband and my mother (the two most important people in the world to me) and the rest of my family, including safe delivery of my new nephew. I am so thankful for my new job, which is a gift beyond reason, allowing so many new opportunities and the funds to start a family (hopefully this summer). I am thankful for my friends who keep me sane. I am thankful for the roof above my head, the bed that keeps me sleeping, the food on the table, the grace in my life. I'm thankful for my health, and for the health of all the people I love. I'm thankful for my dog and cat. I'm thankful for the Spurs and for basketball and for a fun place to talk about both.

I'll give thanks for my mom, dad, little sister, parents & sisters-in-law, my cousins, aunts, uncles, and my grandma who also live in my town. And (wait for it....) my 12 cats (both parents, 1 adopted, and 9 kids[6 just born 3 months ago]), and of course SpursTalk. :)

But this year my most thanks goes to my brother, who can't make it for Thanksgiving because he is currently still in training for the army. I haven't seen him since early July and through that time I've realized how awesome of a brother he really was. We had our ups and downs, the days we played together all day, and the days we fought all day. But no matter what, at the end of the day we were just happy to have each other. I didn't think that I would miss him so much because for about the last year before he went away, we never really hung out as much nor did we talk as much, so I thought it would be easier for me when he left. But when he left I realized how great of a brother he was when he was giving his farewells to everybody who came to see him for a last time. Everyone was crying while I was trying my best to hold it back. I hate crying. But I realized how messed up I could've been today if I didn't have such a great brother. If it wasn't for him, I could seriously be a pussy who listens to emo music and doesn't like sports at all. He's the one that got me into everything that I like today. He's done so much for me and it took me until that moment to realize that. He's an awesome person, and I miss and love him a lot. He can't be here for this holiday but thankfully he will definitely be here for Christmas and everyday I count it down.
Here's to my brother. :toast Love ya man.

This is a strange thanksgiving for me. I'm currently studying abroad (kind of not really) and will be the first thanksgiving I spend away from any family. I'm also homeless, so I've been fortunate enough to realize just how many little blessings I take for granted on a daily basis. So this thanksgiving, I'm expecially thankful for my family, my health, food, gloves, and showers.

Spurs and Longhorns but mostly my family, friends and the ability to live in this country. Over the years I've taken all of this for granted. The Spurs always being contenders and winning rings regularly as well as my family and friends being there. Having just lost my mom, my sisters both having serious health problems and having a very stressful job has reminded me that our lives are so fragile. Things can change so quickly that it is best to be thankful for and appreciate what you have.

So I've decided to appreciate all I have and to tell those I care for how I feel. I will not put off tomorrow what I can do or say today. For some tomorrow never comes so in the end we have only those we have cared for and loved.

Props to Kori and SpursTalk and all that contribute - even the trolls because we all need a good laugh now and then. :toast
