Dwight Howard is an offensive liability. If he's not 5 feet from the basket he has nothing. He's making Perkins and Big Baby look like All-Defensive team type players. Heck even defensive player of the year! He also can't make a FT. Hedo is one of their best players.

Just having fun. I wouldn't waste any serious time bitching about any of them. What's done is done. Salmons was a project, and it's pretty remarkable that he's come this far. And even if a lot of people have forgotten, when SJax was here, there were plenty of articles and posts talking about how he lost as many games as he won. The Scola story has been beaten completely to death. And Hedo is really, really good - except when he isn't.

The only one I really regret is Barbosa. The Spurs knew how fast he was, and that he had decent PG skills. I know they got a protected future first round pick for him, but I always got the impression that they would have liked to keep him. Did they owe that trade to Phoenix for something? I know that Alex Garcia was supposed to be at least as fast, and he was waiting in the wings - but the injury really prevented him from having a serious chance.

Anyway, the lineup is impressive. But if you tried to make a starting lineup out of them, you would probably get a good draft pick the next year.

the mle is basically 6 million a year now

Bad timing.

In the summer of 2004, the Spurs had Tim on a max deal and Malik and Rasho in the middle of 42M deals. That summer they signed Manu to his 52M deal and Tony to his 66M deal. There was no way to match the 38M deal Hedo got from the Magic.

That was 324M in contract commitments made from the summer of 2002 to the summer of 2004. Not too shabby for a cheap team. (this remark has nothing to do with your post, ducks. I just never realized how much money the Spurs laid out in those three summers)

Hedo was never going to excel with the Spurs. The Spurs offense runs heavily through either Timmy, Tony or Manu. When its running like a well oiled machine, it runs through all 3 evenly. Hedo is at his best initiating the play and with the ball in his hands as he is a very good ballhandler and passer. As good as he may be now, he would never have gotten the chance to be the same type of player he is at the Magic and due to the options the Spurs have, that was the right decision.

As a stand still shooter, he sucked balls for the Spurs when it mattered and that was all he ever would be with the Spurs... a stand still shooter.

I like him now though, he is a very unique player and its amazing to see someone perform consistently well in pressure situations after sucking so hard just a few years earlier.

Yup

Not his fault if SVG developed a Pop-Finley pattern with Jameer

They should have won game 4

Imagine if Howard could finish at the rim off a dive to the basket without having to bring the ball down.

Someone needs to inform Dwight that it's 2 points no matter how hard you slam it down.(But I guess he was looking to get some in-game free-throw practice:smokin)

Hedo choked last night, missing 3 of 4 FTs and some really awful 3 pointers

If D12 didn't send the game to OT by chocking his FT's, Hedo would have been the hero, because he made 2 big shots before that

True, D12 choked his azz off. There was no damn Horry to bail him out 05 style in game 5 (YES TD CHOKED that game and I LOVE HIM). TD atleast mada FT or so down the stretch to tie it I believe, D12 made NONE.
