Sean was saying it was all purple and bruised.

It's his shooting hand, too.

At the end of the game when they showed Tim sitting at the bench you could see the finger kind of purple. I hope is nothing serious.

What happened?

Did he have it x-rayed?

Why was he playing in 4th if really bad?

MadDoc wants to KNOW PLEASE?

It certainly bothered him throughout the game. He was fiddling with it just about every time down the court. He seemed to be able to shoot the ball alright, but the real test will come tomorrow I guess. We'll have to wait and see if it swells up tonight.

Hopefully it isn't too serious.

His finger looked jacked up. I would guess that he probably fractured it or a serious dislocation that was popped back in place.

He won't play against Phoenix.

It is "supposedly" jammed, according to Sean and Bill Land. I would imagine they'll take an x-ray after some of the swelling subsides, just to be sure it's not cracked.

It was purple above and below the joint.

He has one finger that's always purple, are we sure it isn't that one? Maybe he jammed it, it's a little stiff for a couple days and then he'll be fine.

Jammed fingers suck, but if that's all it is they'll be able to tape it and let him play through it.

If it's a fracture, it's time for Rasho to step up.

He has one finger that's always purple,

Tpark always has a brown finger.

As long as we're going back to middle school with our humor...how does that Aggie joke go? Did you hear about the Aggie that broke his finger? Somebody hit him in the nose.

The SA announcers did not mention this all night on the NBA radio link but did mention Rose's toe nail problem.

Bizzare.

Let's hope and pray Timmy's finger heals quickly and isn't broken.

CIA Pop will keep "dings" low key, but if it's broken, he'll sit the Franchise for as long as it takes to heal properly. No question about it.

The idiots on NBA-TV haven't even asked anyone about it in the post-game interveiws.

Tim's finger has always been that color, as Misti said. I'm sure Tim will be fine...maybe just tape it for the Suns

does anybody else find it odd that Tim has a purple finger?

people seem to be accepting the answer "it's always been purple" as a normal, reasonable explanation.

Birthmark probably, not that big a deal.

Yeah no kidding, that's one nasty looking finger. Wonder if Tim is half Barney/half Islander?

Geez, I hope that's his only purple appendage.

That's exactly what I was thinking Mark. I've never heard of a purple finger as a birthmark...

No big deal, dont get your panties in a bunch if Tim is or does get hurt, this team has a lot of depth and it wouldn't be the end of the world if he had to miss a few games because of his finger....

Plenty of people have small blotches of purple skin as a birthmark, not that unusual.

His hand is fine. He didn't go for x-rays.

Injury update: Tim Duncan hurt his right index finger after Paul Pierce clubbed the ball out of his hands in the second quarter. He remained on the court and did not need X-rays after the game.

Malik Rose had to briefly leave the game in the first half to have the training staff mend a torn toenail. He later returned.

If that's 100% true, I can now sleep happily. But I still think it might affect him in the Suns game because Tim did not play well after the injury on Sunday's game.

Remember when Bruce Bowen had his hand broken by Pierce in Boston 3 years ago when Paul clubbed BB's hand?

This pic from Ginofan dispelled the "purple" concern.
Thanks for the clairification.

So the punk-ass Pierce makes it a habit of using excessive, club-like, flagrant force to block some shots?
