View Full Version : December comes with a tough schedule for Spurs

A lot of good matchups and good games looming ahead on the schedule for December:

Sun 02 vs Portland 2:30pm
Wed 05 vs Dallas 7:30pm
Fri 07 vs Utah 8:30pm
Tue 11 @ Golden State 9:30pm
Thu 13 @ LA Lakers 9:30pm
Sat 15 vs Denver 7:30pm
Mon 17 vs Phoenix 7:30pm
Wed 19 @ Memphis 7:00pm
Sat 22 vs LA Clippers 7:30pm
Wed 26 vs Chicago 7:30pm
Fri 28 vs Toronto 7:30pm
Sun 30 vs Memphis 7:30pm

At least no b2bs

We'll see just how strong the bench is and how much the Spurs defense is progressing as this month goes along. Should be fun to watch, and I'm glad the Spurs managed to go 14-3 in October / November. I'm guessing an 8-4 record for December as the teams get tougher and the defense is still far from playoff caliber.

10-2 is what i think we get....

And like you said no B2B's.

Dallas Utah LA and Phoenix

They all got our numbers, but the spurs can win all the matchups cause the scheudle is easy as could be.

Yeah, 9-3 or 8-4 at worst, as long our big three keep up their production. I think Finley's due for soime good shooting streak, Vaughn should be better, and Horry's come back would be helpful.

Im not sure if your being serious with that statement... but the only team that could even sniff the Spurs asses in the playoffs out of those teams are the Mavs...

Anyway, ill go with a 9-3 since the majority are at home.

I've penciled this 6 games stretch as a good early indicator of Spurs' state. Spurs will face 6 of the 7 last WC playoff teams. The only WC playoff team they won't face in these 6 games is Houston.

December schedule isn't really hard. You have these 6 games but other teams aren't good, Spurs will mainly play at home and they will only play 12 games in this month without a single b2b.

8-4 I'll say

How, exactly, do Utah, L.A., and Phoenix have the Spurs' "number?"

Is an asterisk a number?

10-2 would be awesome. I think more along the lines of 8-4 or 9-3. Either of those would be still be a great December.

But the way the Spurs are playing now, seemingly putting up well over a 100 anytime they want to, an 11-1 month isn't out of the question.

Actually an asterick is used to denote something. So let's put a big asterick next to the Suns series last year. Denoting that the Spurs kicked your whiny asses to the fishing spots of the world.

Now it comes to my english :)

Maybe not excactly what I wanted to say but as you look at those teams.

LA - Phil always came up with great coaching against the spurs and the spurs had probpems with his team even when Shaq did not play there.

Pho - They are pissed as hell for what happened last year and they want to come with a vengance. They can outrun the spurs considerating the drom on D the spurs having now.

Uta - The rebounding, that's all./ The test

Dallas - they are not afraid at all of the spurs. They think they are better and they can prove this although this season I can see Avery starting on the low level to prepare the team for the playoffs.

And the most important thing is I was talking about December not the April or May or June.
That will be a different story and different teams even if there is the same name of a team.

Tue 11 @ Golden State 9:30pm
Thu 13 @ LA Lakers 9:30pm
Sat 15 vs Denver 7:30pm
Mon 17 vs Phoenix 7:30pm That's going to be a fun stretch of games to watch :hungry:

The Spurs have enough rest during that stretch so there shouldn't really be any built in excuses for any of those games. Par for that course is probably 4-2.

Do you think that AJ is trying to mimmick Pops way of having Dallas sneak in under the radar and not focus to much on the regular season or something?

No freaking way do the Spurs lose 2 of those 3 games. I would bet the farm on that.

i could see us losing 1 game to one of the powers and another game to a team like the clippers or bulls. i just hope we can get some quality wins against some elite teams ... i know it's still early in the season ... but it helps with the outlook.

The Spurs might be making this tough run without Duncan. It will be interesting to see how they do against the Mavs and Golden State. Ginobili and Parker will have to continue playing at a high level.

Finished it 7-5, mainly due to injury problems as well as just shitty basketball.

Let's hope January is better.
