If we are to believe Herbstreit that "THE REGULAR SEASON IS THE PLAYOFFS" then Hawaii should already have been crowned national champion after KU's loss last week. This is like an exhibition...

Hawaii is unbeaten, untied, and #1.

Hawaii; unbeaten, untied, haven't played anyone of consequence (not their fault though as they try every year to shore up a tough non-conference schedule and no one wants a piece). Oh, and ET is dead-on.

I am not saying Hawai'i should be #1, however this is a pretty ignorant arguement.
Was Ohio Sate #1 in 2002? They put up lots of good fights (27-16 @ 3-9 NW'ern; 19-14 @ 2-6 in conf Wisc; 10-6 @ 4-4 in conf Purdue; 23-16 @ 4-4/5-7 Illinios, 23-19 @ 7-7 Cincinnati).

You know, I just had to tell someone at a different board about this who said Hawaii was being screwed and had to watch Ohio State and other 1-2 loss teams play for the NC and high bowl games. Hawaii has played FOUR!!! teams that have no more than TWO wins. Only 3 teams they have played are over .500

I don't care if Hawaii's played San Pedro U. or H.E.B. College for Courtesy Clerks, they still won all those games and should be considered for the title game. What is the NCAA scared of? That Hawaii will shock the world and beat an Ohio St. team? Yep, you bet they're scared!!

Because just because the #1 team doesn't go New England Patriots on everyone and win every game 55-7 doesn't mean they shouldn't be #1. IE. OSU 2002

LSU makes a much bigger case thsn Hawaii. I'd love to see Hawaii survive in the toughest conference in the country. Personally I hope this makes those fans bitch enough to help even more to push the BCS out for good!!

Maybe next year a few big conference teams will make the trip to Oahu and test Hawaii's resolve. They should be eager to go to paradise.

BCS teams have history of scheduling home-and-homes with Hawaii, then buying their way out of the return trip...

me watching them play...i don't think they will match up with Georgia. furthermore, what tough tests has Hawaii had? what big time pressures have they faced? i have seen them play...i'm not impressed...boise state was a fluke last year...Hawaii is maybe a top 25 team...maybe.
Georgia 45
Hawaii 17

UGA is going to hammer them. Mark richt doesn't run up the score so I don't think it will get out of hand, but Moreno and Brown are going to run all over that team and keep the ball out of their hands. Hawaii's leading rusher has 379 yards all year, that's pretty bad. Also Hawaii may match up at the skill positions but the size and strength on both lines are going to hurt them badly. They don't even use a tight end, Marcus Howard (UGA D end) is 240 and runs a 4.45, he's going to be in Colt's face all day.
How 'bout them Dawgs!!!!!!!!!

I agree, they match up poorly with UGA. I think they actually matched up better against LSU.
