Yeah, you guys definitely deserve a tea party.

Playing the 49ers, Cardinals, and Rams twice in your division is a mighty chore (we'll forget about that "mirage" that happened in AZ). Barely beating the Eagles (the only NFC East team you have played this year) when four passes are thrown directly to your linebacker is quite an accomplishment too.

Yeehaw!!!

Well, Seattle does have a veteran team with a good QB who has played in his fair share of big playoff games. Also their defense is 4th in the NFL in points allowed right now. That's the kind of team that could pull off a road upset in the playoffs.

It's unlikely, but if Romo has a bad game, the Seahawks win the turnover battle, and they get some big plays on offense while limiting Dallas's big plays, then you never know. But that's alot to ask for.

They didn't beat Dallas when Romo would have scored if not for a great tackle by Jordan Babineaux? Seriously, if Martin Gramatica just tugs on that guys jersey, he doesn't catch Romo and Romo either scores or gets the first down.

It was an exceptional choke by Dallas, but a choke that was a hair's breadth from being the defining moment of Romo's career so far, but in a good way.

The only thing that game proved was that kickers are pussies.

It's definitely possible.

Dallas fans think they have their SB ticket punched, but let's not forget that this team has little-to-no prior experience winning playoff games. The majority of their core (Romo, Newman, Barber, Witten, Roy, Ellis, Ware) have never won a playoff game ever. Wade Phillips has never won a playoff game.

Dallas is definitely the favorite in the NFC, but Seattle could easily take them out again.

I agree that it is possible for Seattle to beat Dallas in the playoffs because the slogan in the NFL is any given sunday especially in the postseason. If they take seattle lightly and think everything is a lock, someone will upset them. Now if the Cowboys play their best game, Seattle isnt beating them. It took multiple fuckups for the Seahawks to squeak by a faltering Cowboys team last season. It is going to take mental preventable mistakes by the Cowboys to lose to the Seahawks or just about any team in the NFC.

Yet they havent allowed a 100 yard rusher at all this season. The Cowboys rush D is better than what it showed these last 2 weeks. Like I said if the Cowboys play their C game, then it can be close to a coin flip. However if the Cowboys dont make stupid mistakes and play their A game, it wont even be close.

I don't think the "haven't allowed 100 yd rusher stat" holds weight anymore. Too many teams split carries among two or three backs. When people used to say that, it meant that the opposing teams' rushing attack was non-existent.

Not anymore.

I can name four teams off the top of my head that rushed for well over 100 yds against Dallas with two backs: NYG, Minny, GB, Lions.

Ellis & Ware have been huge, but Ayodele is average at best, and Bradie James is becoming a liability at this point. Seattle may not have that weakness, but like I said, DeMarcus Ware is so damn good that I can live with Bradie James screwing up. That's why I'd personally take Dallas' LB crew over Seattle's.

Ware is such a beast in every aspect. He can get pressure on the QB, stuff the run, and he's one of the better coverage LB's in the game. In a year or two he'll definitely be the best all around LB in the game.

tlongII
12-11-2007, 12:57 PM
Ellis and Ware have 21.5 sacks.
The starting Seattle lb core has 13.

So what? Patrick Kerney leads the NFC in sacks with 13.5. The Seahawks lb's don't have as many sacks because they don't need to blitz as much as Dallas. Julian Peterson has 9 sacks anyway though.

Kerney and Peterson have 22.5 sacks.

I would agree with you that football IQ is very important.

I would disagree because I think they are both rather football smart.

This is DeMarcus Ware's first real year playing his position. I'm of the opinion that he was very poorly utilized by Parcells. He's a dominating presence right now and has the potential to get a LOT better. If I'm building a defense, I take him before just about any other defensive player in the league. I'd take Champ Bailey over him, but there's not too many other defensive players I'd take before Ware.

Didn't say he's lacking in intelligence. Just said that Tatupu has a much greater football IQ.

As a rookie Tatupu came in and became a true defensive captain; making sure all the defensive players were lined up properly, calling defensive audibles, even telling vets where they should be. As far as I know Ware didn't come in as a rookie and take the defense by the collar like that.

So the Pats arent dominant like they think they are because the Ravens and Eagles gave them gifts? Every great team has a couple of close calls, hopefully the Boys turn out to be one of those teams.

If you ask the Pats players they won't say their dominant "yet". And that's just not lip service. Every team has holes and can be exploited. I doubt the Pats take teams like Jacksonville, Indy, and even the Chargers lightly.

DeMarcus Ware has great football IQ. Just as good as Tatupu.

And Ware never had that opportunity to be a leader right away. He was a DE in college and spent his rookie year learning how to play LB. In addition, Parcells would never have let him take control of the defense. He also would never have let Tatupu do that either. Alot of Ware's development has been stunted by the ultra-conservative philosophy of Parcells, something Tatupu never had to deal with. Even so, Ware is a dominant force with high football IQ. I'll take Ware before Tatupu any day of the week.

DeMarcus Ware is a damn good player and a true presence out there, no argument from me. But I would still take Tatupu over him.

Tatupu just does everything really well out there. You want him to blitz, he'll get to the quarterback or open up a huge hole for somebody else to get there. You drop him back in coverage, he's like an extra DB out there. You need him to stop the run, he's a great sure handed tackler that has a nose for the ball. I honestly can't see any weaknesses in his game.

We'll just have to agree to disagree. I say Tatupu's IQ is higher. And Parcells wouldn't have had a choice if he would have had Tatupu on his team. He took a defense and led them to the Super Bowl as a rookie. Before the season had even started he was already barking at vets and pointing out their mistakes. He wasn't given the defensive captains job, he straight up went and took it.

Actually he was given it because only the coach can assign a captaincy or he can defer to a players vote.

I think Parcells would have actually hindered Tatupu's career as I think he did with Ware. Slightly but still. The defense that is in place with Dallas now allows for Ware to do more and use his athletic ability. Tatupu had that when he came in with Seattle and he shined. I would take Ware over Tatupu but not by much and that is in no way a slight. Both guys are studs and will be pro bowlers for quite a while.

I see Ware all over the place, being double teamed almost every time he rushes, great against the run, and a guy who puts up just as good production if not better with less snaps who is still learning his position.

A rematch with Seattle would be sweet, because that would mean that the Cowboys were in the NFC title game.

I'll give it to you guys a W is a W, but you guys aren't dominant like you think you are. The only games that will mean anything will be played in January/February.

Oh, but the Seahawks are very dominant :rolleyes

BTW, How in the hell can you say Tatupu is better than Ware. Do oyu watch the games? They are in effect two different styes of linebackers.

If you don't thnk games being played now mean anything, you are an idiot. this is not hte NBA, where there are 82 games. Home field and momentum mean a lot.

Actually many people thought Golden St. could win. The Mavs were the least favored #1 seed ever.

Win a playoff game before you start making your Super Bowl vacation plans. I'd hate to see you guys end up like Charger fan.

Same to you bud...and the Warriors beating the Mavs was an upset. 67 win team versus 40+...Gimme a break dude. :drunk

Well, if anyone was interested in watching the Seachickens play, we might be able to see how many "gifts" you guys have along with your losses.

Seattle is starting to look impressive and Hasselback is playing well so they would be a dangerous team. Still, I'd have to see them beat somebody (especially on the road) before I really gave them much credit. Solid team but I don't really know how good.

Seahawks did win a playoff game. Remember last year?? Or the year before that?? Remind me again when was the last time you guys won one.

And once again how many times did the Warriors beat you guys in the regular season?? Go ahead though, keep telling yourself the better team lost. :lol :lol :lol

Ware and Tatupu are different types of linebackers. I would rather have Ware any day...just as Shawn Merriman.
