..are playing like shit. Dirk looks like he's still day dreaming about aborigenes and kangaroos. Last year Avery was hard boiled. This year he just sits there with a shit eating grin on his face, giving high fives to his assistant coaches. I see what he's trying to do, but he needs to go back to being a grouchy asshole. And leave the damn lineup alone. There is such a thing as over-adjustment. Mavs need to wake up and play like they give a shit.

Do Josh Howard, Dirk, and JET still factor heavily in their rotation? Not a formula for success.

I don't know how well he's doing this year, but there's no way Stack could keep up his pace from last year (where I think he single-handedly won the Mavs a few games with his savviness off the bench... maybe JET is filling that role this year and they're both chuckers, so...)

The Mavs could be one game into a 5 game losing streak. The Bulls & Nuggets are both run-n-gun, athletic teams that kill the Mavs, the Jazz have always give them problems, and the Spurs are the Spurs.

This time next week Dallas could be 11-10.

Other teams should be so lucky to be playing like shit and still be 11-6. They're fine. In their last four losses, three of those games were on the road and they lost by 4 points or less in those three. They've only had one really bad loss, to Washington. Haven't even hit the quarter mark of the season. They should be fine.

this is good for the mavs. IMO. I would prefer them to have #1 record in the league and then choke in the playoffs

Yup. The Mavs are trying the 'sneak into playoff while flying under the radar' formula this season after getting crashed & burned last summer. Or perhaps they try to create their own version of SPAM.
