Enjoy, I thought this was interesting, tell me what you think. This is a State/GOP sanctioned Straw poll, the polling machines are Diebold machines provided to the GOP by the State of Florida. To me though the scariest thing about this is that they were doing this while being video taped, knowing full well this would be submitted to the FBI as evidence.

Your thoughts are welcome.

Pathetic.

Hey Dark... I thought you had better powers of observation than that.

First of all, the guy appears not to know someone is speaking. That could be a voice-over.

Second of all, he gave two cards, then was given two cards. It took him about 1 minute and 55 seconds to do two votes, whereas the guy next to him took 1 minute and 6 seconds for likely one vote.

Some places allow others to vote for him. He could have been with another Romney supporter, voting for both.

I see nothing wrong with this except the way the man described it. He purposely lied about the time. What else did he lie about?

Beware of propaganda…

This one seems a little more obvious.... (http://youtube.com/watch?v=1bRGMrPP4as&feature=related)

However, it looks as if the people running the event know what's going on.

Yes, he exchanged several tickets, looked like 8 to me, for the same number of computer cards.

My God man... Do you know the rules?

I really wish people would know what they are talking about before generating false pretenses.

I found some of the rules since. I am right that these people could be casting ballots for others. It is not required that they cast their own vote, but people can vote by proxy. Think about it. If you have a group of people all voting the same way, why not elect someone to place all the votes. It is not banned at the straw poll. There is another reason that may be happening, but if no one else discovers it, then I am wasting my time with this thread, and the ignorant choose not to learn the truth.

If anything, in generating negative propaganda under false pretense, these Paul supporters are making him look bad. Are the a reflection of the integrity that Paul supporters have? These people filming this are what I can “Lawful Evil.” They learn the rules, and use them to their benefit, above the consideration of what is right.

I just finished watching the video, stopping, starting, restarting...

No rules were violated!

The Ron Paul guy with the camera is an unethical asshole.

I'm sorry wtf?
No Rules were violated? Where do you live? You must live in pre WW2 Germany. Can you imagine where all someone needed to have was tickets to vote as many times as they wish? The more tickets you buy the more votes you get, oh boy is that a place you want to live?

The rule clearly stated 1 ticket 1 vote, how is this not a clear violation of the rules?

Yes, but he had several tickets!

He voted one time for each one.

Did you locate any of the rules?

Do you think the other supporters for different candidates didn't do the same thing? I'd bet the ranch the Ron Paul supporters did the same thing, but of course, the guy producing the propaganda isn't going to say so.

Again, the video does no show any infraction of the rules.

It was 1 ticket per person, per vote. That was the rule, that's how it should be.

While these are apparently the rules (I'm basing this on the fact that the election workers know it is happening), don't the rules render the straw poll somewhat ineffective? What good is a poll where people get to vote as many times as they want or can afford?

straw vote
–noun
an unofficial vote taken to obtain an indication of the general trend of opinion on a particular issue.
Also called straw poll.

I think Mr Dictionary needs to run back and talk to his old ball coach after that one.

As for the vote, what they did in Florida was raise money for the GOP more than try for an accurate vote. They allowed tickets to be purchased for $20 each, with a maximum of ten tickets per person.

Like I said, none of the rules were violated.

Like Mr. Dictionary points out, it isn't any type of an official election, nor does it claim to be.

It is an event to raise money for the GOP. It wouldn't surprise me if the democrats do the same thing.

There's no need to get so defensive. I didn't accuse the GOP of any wrongdoing, nor did I allege that any rules were violated. In fact, I acknowledged that it didn't look as if any rules had been violated. I only said that the rules would essentially render the "poll" useless.

Also, why would it matter whether Democrats would do the same thing? Nobody said this was a GOP-only issue and no one said that the other party was above such things.

Finally, I didn't know that the event was a fundraiser. However, the fact that the media reported the results of the "poll" indicates to me that there were many people (media included) that misunderstood the true purpose of the event.

Hey be gentle with those folks in Florida. After all most of them
are imports from the East/North or Cuba. They just want thnings
like they were at home.
