. . . that Manu needs Timmy around him to be productive.

And also that he is not capable of being the go to guy.

Is this thread going to be like matter and anti-matter when an Argentinian takes on the entire Church of Manu?

Did you watch the last two games? i guess 37ppg is unproductive. pulling your team up from a 10 or 11 point deficit is unproductive. what is your definition of productive?

Well, that's exactly what I like the most about these two past games with Manu being the main guy.
Everybody used to pull out the "Manu plays next to Duncan, that makes it easier" and "He couldn't be a franchise player" or "He plays against substitute players" arguments. Now it's marked that those statementes are false.

If Manu were to be a franchise player somewhere, I would put that team on-par with a squad led by TMac. The success of the team would definitely hinder on the player-caliber surrounding him, but he would be a really good "cornerstone-upgrade" (and at a bargain) to at least half the league.

He played well the first game, mediocre the second. Besides that, it's 2 games. There's no way he could carry the load an entire season.

Eather can SUPER kobe without a solid big man next to him.
And how many championships did Jordan win without Pippen and co.?
No player can carry a team to a championship by himself. No one,not Manu or any other.
You need a balanced team with solid players and a great coach with a great system, like the Spurs have.
Do you honestly think that Timmy could take SA to win another championships by himself, meaning NO Tony NO Manu??

I said no tony no manu.

BTW,in 2003 DRob was still around.
That said,Timmy was surrounded by better players in 2003 tham now.

You might want to fix your feed in Argentina. David Robinson could barely play in 2003, contributing a whopping 7 points and 6 rebounds per game in the playoffs. Manu averaged a whopping 9 points per game, on 39% shooting. Tony was their second leading scorer, at only 14.9 a game, shooting only 40%.

Guess what Tim averaged through that playoff run? 25 points, 15 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 blocks per game on 53% shooting. :lmao

Case rested.

I think we should just get rid of that manu guy. He doesnt do anything. Maybe we could get Josh Childress for him. Or, is Austin Croshere available?

Even with those numbers Drob>The whole actual Spurs frontline not Duncan.
Also,in 2003 Stephen Jackson and Malik were in SA as well.
Like I said befere,no player can carry a team to a championship by himself.

Thank you.

Of course he can! Last season Lebron did. The Cavs won a wooping total of zero games.

These are the dumbest threads of all time. I could show you 2 back to back games where players like Ricky Davis have gone off and that proves absolutely nothing. I can show you a month where Flip Murray carried the Sonics while Ray Allen was out and it means absolutely nothing.

Manu is an outstanding player having his best season to date. But I'm in no way ready to elevate him to Duncan status after 2 games. Why can't you guys just be happy that he's a great player?
