Can the Spurs pull this one out or is the Suns' offense too strong?

Discuss.

nash you are going down!

ducks

double team amare?

"double team amare?"

Like Manu, he can only go in one direction, but that doesn't seem facilitate stopping him, either. I wonder if Pop has told his inside guys to try to not let him go for those right-handed dunks?

the key is to not let nash penetrate

It's match-ups like these where I really miss David Robinson. Granted Amare was a rookie, but the Admiral did a phenomenal job guarding his right hand whenever he matched up against him in that first round series a couple of years ago. I only hope Tim and Rasho can "anticipate" Stoudemire's inevitable moves to the right tonight.

Definitely, neutralize nash and you neutralize the suns. This game rests on how Parker handles Nash, as much as how smooth we run our offense tonight.

DRob's natural advantage, of course, being that he was left-handed and so Amare was moving to Robinson's strength.

Steve Nash is still a whirlwind on defense, I see.

20-13 SA with only 5 min gone, definitely a PHX pace

We can't defend the pick and roll for crap.

ChumpDumper

Spurs playing some very stupid ball.

I don't like the pace of the game.

missed free throws, fouls, traveling turnover, Malik sucks again...

ducks
12-28-2004, 09:18 PM
spurs shooting 65% and still losing

missed 5 free throws so far
7 turnovers

Aggie Hoopsfan
12-28-2004, 09:20 PM
So far everything that's been a problem for us all year is rearing its ugly head:

predictable offense
predictable substitution patterns
bad free throw shooting
Malik trying to pass like Nash/Manu

I just want someone to explain to me why we ever match up Rasho on Amare, that is a total mismatch when Amare puts the ball on the floor.

ducks
12-28-2004, 09:21 PM
[SAN] POPOVICH Foul: Technical (0 PF)

Aggie Hoopsfan
12-28-2004, 09:21 PM
BTW, while I'm still thinking about it: Bowen needs to follow his shot on the wing. Damn near every time he misses it's short. If he followed his shot he'd probably be catching it on the run.

ducks
12-28-2004, 09:23 PM
2 fouls on nash that could be huge

come one try to get three on him tp

Aggie Hoopsfan
12-28-2004, 09:26 PM
Tony is balling, but needs a breather.

Shawn Marion, meet Tim Duncan. Psst, he's tall. :lol

Aggie Hoopsfan

Amare + Tim + Tony + Manu + my grandma = 7 rings.

Wow Great game, Spurs shooting 59% from the field and the suns40%, and only down by 7. Hope the second half is as exciting as the first.

GINNNNNNNNNNNNOBILI

NO its not, they usually have a bad first quarter and high scoring 2nd quater. I believe during the seattle game they only had 17 in the first quarter.

Duncan: 3rd qtr-16pts,11 rbds, 4assts, 5 blocks=quadruple double tonight tim?

ShoogarBear

It's amazing Nash ever gets any fouls on him, considering he's never closer than 3 feet to his man.

What is going through Sean Marion's head? Does he think that Duncan will forget how to jump when he puts a shot up right in front of him.

I might to bet 300 on spurs winning by 11 or more not suns
genghisrex bet 200 so I was going to bet one hundred more to catch him but I started the bet and then got busy at work then went back to it and it was the wrong one

it never backfired because I thought spurs would win by 11 or more

GINNNNNNNNNNNNOBILI

the spurs better play like they have for the rest of the game, i wont be satisfied unless we win by 15+

Looks like the Spurs are going for a new season high tonight.

I do not see the suns outscoring spurs by 24 in the fourth, well we see what happens when the suns have 3 or there 5 starters shooting 5 of 24 thats q, marion and jj. Good job spurs...

What is lakergod's excuse this time? Nash didn't have a fresh haircut? Amare's last tat hadn't healed?

GREAT JOB by the spurs.. Tony P. did awesome tonight...and what can you say about Timmy D...I've seen KG and Timmy both against the SUNS this year..and I would have to say Timmy is the MVP he just changes the entire game...Lets see if the SUNS learn from this and play a little better at home in Janurary...

ducks

amare is the second player to go over 30 points against them
mcgrady with his late threes was the other one

but they shut down everyone else

Matrix
12-28-2004, 11:10 PM
I'd rather have amare score 15 and the other suns starters get theirs and win then have amare score over 30, plus a think a lot of that was in 4 when he went over after the spurs put the bench in...I could be wrong though

Experiment2100
12-28-2004, 11:38 PM

Maybe it will be opposite and he had this Samson complex, when he cut his hair he lost his power.

I'd also like to see an excuse from the laker fans...it'll be funny.

Spurs played like never before, no one expected this...I know that for a fact.

Spurs bench: 41 pts, 10 ast, 20 rebs, 2 st, 4 to, 4 bs.

Seems like it was an outstanding game by the spurs, it seems like the suns didn't really click tonight. I expect a much closer game next time.
