I think Stevie Franchise started. That explains a lot.

Houston should win the title this year. First team in a long time to sport three franchise players in their prime. Scola is probably close to attaining that stat, too.

17 turnovers by mid-way through the 3rd. Wowzers. Go go gadget butterfingers!

If they could have kept V-Span and still gotten Scola they would have a starting 5 of franchise players.

I forgot, who did Houston bring in this year? Because the way Hollinger was talking about the Rockets in the pre-season, I thought they signed Kobe.

Yeah, defense>offense

Too bad JVG isnt too heavy with his players. I heard he was always shouting in film, practice, whatever.

just give it time, eventually the Francis signing will work out for them and put them over the top, exactly like when they signed that Stromile Swift fella.

Yeah, what's up with Houston? Similarly, some analysts were talking about the New Jersey Nets in the east with their additions of Magloire and Sean Williams and the return of Krstic. Some teams are just destined to be mediocre playoff teams that lose in the first or second round.

They should start Bonzi and bring T-Mac off the bench.

Color me surprised they're getting pounded by this. Philly's been playing better, but damn. Early on in the season it was clear the Rox hurt bad in the PG department, but it's more than that...

Matter is, who do you trade to shake things up? Bonzi no one wants, McGrady and Yao you can't/shouldn't really trade. Everyone else is practically garbage.

should bring battier off the bench.

start Aaron Brooks... a PG with handles, can shoot, drive, and pass.

Why not this deal:

Bonzi and two first round draft picks (or a first and a 2nd) to the Sixers for Andre Miller? Miller gets to be on a contender and Phillly continues with their rebuilding phase.

Houston's starters scored only 28 out of the 88 total points the team had.

And Yao and McGrady only had 12 each. :grim:

and u wonder why we never got out of the 1st round
we should have listen to the Orlando warning on McGrady:
When something goes wrong, he quits

All the same problems from last year. No real point guard. I was flipping back and forth and it also seemed like T-Mac's back was flaring up.

With Van Gundy there if they shot like ass the tempo was still so slow they could keep it close. With Adelman the pace is cranked up. A small gap can turn into thirty points really quick.

I mean, how do you have a team with Alston, James AND Francis?? Even your third-string PG is a chucker :lol

Adelman isn't exactly known for using "true" PG's. He had a lot of success with guys like Jason Williams and Mike Bibby in Sacramento, both of whom I'd call shoot first types. Of course, they had Divac and a healthy Webber, two of the best passing big men in a while, to run the offense through. There's no one like that with the Rockets.

Rackets have nothing close to a starting PG and nothing close to a starting PF. They plays no defense at all against Raptors and Sixers. They are a talented team but if they continue like that, they won't make the playoffs this year.

First Tmac did not "quitted :rolleyes " on us. I think what you meant was that he quit on us. He did roll his ankle, but I guess that doesn't matter b/c as long as your overrated butt-buddy Battier is healthy, your world is ok.
Couple things here. First, rafer was not playing. He has the nash-effect on the rox. The O just does not flow well when he is out. No, I am not implying that he is anywhere near nash-talent. Phoenix falls apart without nash as do the rox w/out rafer (or tmac).
It is still early in the season and this game was the second nite of a b2b on the road. The reserves came in and made a game of it, and it was "only" a 12 pt road loss, ugly as it was.
I really don't know how the rox will fare this year; once you dig thru all the hype they are missing manu-type slashers and pure shooters. I think they will get their act together by mid-season. They have had a tough schedule with many road games, b2backers and I think the schedule favors success down the stretch.
we shall see.

rudy gay + stromile > battier.
