I've had that before. It SUCKS, it itches so badly! You just wanna rip your eyes out, plus all the puss and boogers that your eyes emit, it's hard as hell to keep them open. Mine was a little worse, because I didn't know what it was and I just left it untreated for a couple of weeks and would itch the fuck out of my eyes.

But I never had a problem playing basketball with it, all I had to do was put on some eye drops and it went away. Wear some goggles Camby, unless if his pink eye is like this:
