Sorry guys, but I was watching my Beavers kick Notre Dame's ass last night. I saw that Q-Rich didn't make a single shot from the field and I thought defending him would be key to the Spurs success. Marion also had a bad game though. Which one was Bowen covering?

I'm pretty sure Duncan covered Marion most of the game, and Bowen covered Richardson.

Rasho guarded Stoudemire, TP was on Nash, Bowen was on Johnson and Q, Manu was on both of them as well, and TD was on Marion.

Bowen covered Q for most of the game and JJohnson later.

That has to be frustrating for QRich.
Not making a single FG, that sucks.

Richardson doesn't like someone in his face. I saw him go 1-17 v. the Spurs last year at Staples. I didn't see him showing off his uniform last night, or doing that stupid thing he does from his head when he makes a three, just sitting on the bench hiding his head in disgrace.

The Spurs had 50 points in the paint. One of the problems was the Suns ...when the starters were in.... had Stoudamire on Timmy and Marion on Rasho. Huge size differential. To make things worse for Phoenix, every time Tony fed Timmy in the post, the Suns sent two more straight to dig at him, typically their PG (Nash or Barbosa) plus the next closest defender on that side. Timmy ate that up and just got it to the cutters.

The other matchups for the Suns were Johnson on Manu, Q on Bowen, and of course Nash on TP. At the other end, although Bowen matched up on Q, the Spurs went to a zone off and on throughout the evening so matchups weren't always Bowen on one man. After the 1st quarter, the Spurs adjusted their D and shut down the fast breaks by making sure 2 Spurs always got back to stand close together at the FT line to eliminate the middle penetrations.

I think it's a sign to Jackie Christie that they're available after the game.

After the 1st quarter, the Spurs adjusted their D and shut down the fast breaks by making sure 2 Spurs always got back to stand close together at the FT line to eliminate the middle penetrations.

That was the key to stopping the penetration of Nash and thus shutting down their offense. They also had Bowen back with Parker pressing Nash in the backcourt, then as soon as they crossed over midcourt Bowen would run over and get on his own man. This slowed down the offense quite a bit.

Amare got his, but the rest of the Suns were invisible after the first quarter.

It's just a "knuckleheads" sign that they used to do to each other when on the Clippers.

Really? Even better. I was listening to Bill Schoening on the radio as we were leaving the SBC Center and I mis-heard him, I guess.

I'm looking at the printed boxscore and it says 60-46 for Points in the Paint. I'm assuming it's right.

Yeah, the thompson brothers also said that we won by 25... after I left the game knowing that we won by 21...

Damned people giving me a microsecond of false hope.

I bet my vBookie $25 bucks left on the spurs to win by 25+.

Stupid 3rd string could only hold the lead to 21... wtf...
