I don't see the link between an ankle injury and a wedding.

pop making sure he doesn't coach ASG
Excuse me if this sounds stupid, but WTF does the Spurs' record have to do with coaching the ASG???

Coach whose team has the best record at the break in each conference coaches the ASG.

Pop said he was going to be in no hurry to bring Parker back.
This shouldn't be a surprise.

Express News 12/14, Mike Monroe:
Parker sat out Thursday against the Los Angeles Lakers at the Staples Center, missing his first game of the season. Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said Parker is unlikely to suit up against Denver on Saturday in San Antonio. After that, his status will be game by game.
Parker suffered a left ankle injury in the Spurs' Nov. 30 game at Minnesota. An MRI exam showed no bone damage and he had played the three subsequent games. But his performance had suffered and Popovich chose to shut him down for a while.
“The MRI showed negative,” Popovich said. “But it's real sore. It became obvious in the Golden State game. Two days of rest didn't do any good. I just had to make the call and have him sit. He buys it. He understands we had to do it.”
Parker has struggled with his explosiveness since injuring the ankle. Popovich wants to make certain the injury is fully healed before he suits up again.
“I think it might be longer,” Popovich said. “He's obviously labored for a while now. I know some games he's played well, but he can't put them back to back. His foot is sore afterwards.”
“I almost sat him for the Golden Sate game, but he thought the two days (off) would help him, and it didn't. He doesn't have his lift. He doesn't have his explosiveness. He can't get by people. He can't plant on that5 foot the way he wants to, so we're going to make sure that little bone he aggravated, according to the MRI, is not a problem before we put him back out there.
“It's too early to take chances with guys. Unfortunately, I'm probably sitting him one game too late.”

Injury updates: Tony Parker, the Spurs' All-Star point guard, missed his third-straight game and isn't likely to play in Memphis on Wednesday night either.
Parker sprained his left ankle Nov. 30. He played four games with the injury but sat out against the Lakers and Denver Nuggets after the injury began affecting his performance.
"The first game possible is probably Saturday against the Clippers," Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. "He's just got an inflammation. I don't want to play, and he comes right back, and he's got the same problem again. I want to leave him out long enough that the thing has a chance to heal."
Backup center Francisco Elson, who sprained his left ankle late in the Spurs' victory Saturday over Denver, also sat out Monday. Depending on how he responds at today's practice session, he could return for the Memphis game.

It's no big deal. Worst Case Scenario? We still get top 5 spot and have to play some road games in the playoffs. A repeat caliber team should have no problem with this.

Be healthy, be playing well, make the playoffs. In that order. I don't care what their record is.

:lol He needs to rest his ankle from basketball - running, cutting, etc. He doesn't need bed rest :lol
with our players all we need is to make it to the playoffs healthy.
if we get homecourt thats just gravy.

I never said play like Manu.
I said take some time off and don't play for the French NT, just like Manu did last summer with the Argie NT.

But Tony wanted to play for the olympics.
The French team needed Tony.
The Argie team is strong enough without Manu. They didn't need him last summer.

I know that, But he makes his millons out of the Spurs checking account, not the French team.
I never said to stop playing for France, but at least do it in the Olympics or World Championships not every single summer.
If I'm not mistaken Pop and RC also asked Tony to take some time off last summer as they did to Manu and Oberto.

After the 2004 olympics Manu had his best season on the spurs.
After the 2005 summer (Manu didn't play for the argies NT) he was injured many time in the season.
So..
