Is it just me or do the Mavs play uninspired ball except vs. the Spurs?

few observations:

-Josh Howard is not that good of a jumpshooter to continue to shoot jumpers after missing 3 in a row

-Juwan Howard should not play another meaningful minute the rest of the season. His defensive rotations were laughable

-Anderson Varejao's head snaps back when there is possible (not actual) contact about 8-10 inches away

-There's something wrong with your defense when a guy like Larry Hughes starts playing well against you

Putrid offense on both sides ... Mavs getting the calls this quarter and getting to the line, which is why the game is still close

Wow...loads of missed opportunities on both sides...Cavs need one more bucket to seal the deal...still a 2-possession game, though...

LeBron with a monster jam to slam the door! Cavs win, 88-81.

Crap Cleveland got to shoot 32 FTs against the Mavs in Dallas, who continue to play like a team with a totally shattered psyche in a 88-81 loss tonite.

LOL at Cuban's face... Dallas is just lost right now...
It's still early, but are we sure they're a lock for the playoffs, considering how competitive the West is right now?

Dallas now in third place in SW division by percentage points, New Orleans jumps ahead of them.

Yeah, did anyone hear what that announcer said that Cuban was mad about the calls (or no calls) and was about to get his first fine of the season?

the game was lost when avery decided to go with terry and stack in the 4th to jack up 3s. that was funny. Says a lot when the team defers from the supposed MVP in the crunch eh?

Well, the Mavs were pretty much expected to lose this game. The Cavs just went out and did what they were supposed to do. Dallas has been on the decline since the end of the regular season last year.

A 67-15 regular season has been followed by 21-15 overall, playoffs and regular season, since.

the spurs didn't have a game today.

Shouldn't the so-called "real MVP" lead his team to a .500 record ?

The more Mavs lose earlier, the scarier they are in the playoffs. Imagine a hungry overlooked Mav team with a chip on its shoulder going on a tear in the late second half of the season and facing the spurs in the 2nd round...
at this point, it seems like our imagination is the only way that happens. seriously, i'd given credance to the idea that they were pacing themselves and whatnot, but the rationale breaks down when they look to really be trying and have no discernable reason for losing games.

they're something like 0-6 without him.

No, the more the Mavs lose earlier, the less practice at being decent they have.

No one loses games on purpose.

The key to staying fresh for the playoffs is distributing the minutes, not sucking.

I hope you arent being serious...remember a mavs team that lost in the 06 finals and had a chip on their shoulder and came out and won 67 games, only to lose to the Warriors in the first round...Spurs should be very afraid of a hungry overlooked Mavs team in the playoffs because there track record proves they can overcome monumental collapses :(

I'm sure Dirk left the arena satisfied with his 20 rebound game. Is there anybody that comes up with weaker cop-outs for pussing out than Dirk?

"Well I shot the ball like crap and was too scared to bring it into the post, I deferred to Jason Terry & Eddie Jones hoping they'd come through in the clutch since I am incapable of it, but HEY I got 20 rebounds!"

Why the fuck is this nutsack adding "if the playoffs started today" to his bullshit predictions? Motherfucker, we're not even halfway through the season. Why are you so fucking retarded?
