Agreed, "lobbyists" is a useless category. Who are the lobbyists hired by?
The above shows corporate America placing it bets with the probably winners, aka, Repugs and their bullshit Iraq war and bogus war on terra are dead in the water.

I remember at one point in the 2000 election when dubya had burned through $200M but still was in dead heat with Gore. The corps were asking "WTF is wrong with dubya?" aka "We're buying this election, but dubya can't delivery the goods".
The corps know their donations will enable them to get the beneficiary whore, even if he/she loses, to turn tricks in Congress or via lobbying upon command.
Note how disappearingly small the amounts are compared to 100s of $Bs these corps have at their discretion.

I’m surprised you didn’t include Hollywood. We all know how much Hollywood loves the liberals:

Could the very large amounts to the top three democrats under Lawyers/Law Firms be because the profession knows the democrats loves lawsuits and that they don't desire tort reform like most republicans do?

Democrats seem to be the party easiest bought off by special interests. Edwards largest contribution coming from Lawyers...LOL. No doubt arising from his ambulance chasing practice.
If you look further, you'll find individual contributions (man on the street types) favor Republicans, while large special interests favor Demo's.

Is anyone particularly worried about a President showing favor to the interests of the entertainment industry?

Go figure . . .Somethings, namely our leaders, should not be up for sale. The people with more money should in no way get better representation through their donations the way it happens. That is not capitalism, that is a corrupt government.
You're really off your game dude, cause boutons owned you hard in this thread.

It could also be the fact that many of the huge corporate law firms have sections that are full of lawyers/lobbyists representing client interests.

America is capitalist. It's why we have had the success we've had. Only when we lose sight of that, do we get into trouble.
Sorta like now.
If you don't understand that the business of America...is business. You simply do not understand America.
